11 years later...
Rosie's POV"Aye RO." I hear my name being yelled.
I looked out my balcony and Cameron was outside.
"Let's go." he said. I noded.
I put on my snap back, grey t-shirt with a black rose, jean shorts, and my black Vans.
Wondering why I'm not wearing a yellow sundress with flats and makeup, that's not me at all, that's why. Rosie Dawson doesn't wear yellow. No.
The last time I wore a dress was 8th grade culmination.
I ran down stairs with my roller blades.
"Mom, I'm going skating" I leave the house and fist pump Cameron's fist."The boys are already over there." I rode on the back of Cameron's bike.
We made it to the skate rink.
Filled with people.
This skate rink, Sherman's Skating, is our hangout on the weekend and sometimes weekdays. We used out pass and slipped on our skates.
The guys were hanging out by the food court tables.
The guys: Sam, Nate, Carter, Matt, Shawn, the Jacks, Nash, Taylor and Aaron.
"Aye!" They all said excitedly."Let's go take over the rink." I said after fist pumping everyone.
We rolled to the rink and began to skate fast. I love skating to the beat of the music. I spin and skate fast.
I start to slow down."RO!" Cameron called me. I skate to him. Cameron calls me RO because when we were kids he would pronounce my name as Wozie, or WO.
"What." I said.
"Let's skate backwards, I haven't done that for a while" he said.
"Ok let's do it."
We signaled the rest of the guys.
We skate backwards.
"Wooo!" I yelled.
We stopped. I was sweating. we sit to rest and eat something.
"Aye, Shawn you're getting better at the backwards skating." I said."I've been practicing after school." he smiled.
"You were killing it up there." Nate said.
"Thanks." I love to roller blade.
"No one can beat the queen of roller blading!" Cameron commented.
Cameron and I have been rollerblading since we were kids, I remember the first day coming to Sherman's and skating with him.All of us were taking and making jokes as we rested.
"Hey boys." Ariana from school greeted.
She's always flirting with the boys but especially Cameron. She rolled away with her white skates."She's fine" Nash looked back checking her out.
"We can see that she hits on you the most, Cam." Carter said
"Nah, she's always talking to all of us."
"But she looks at you when she does." I said.
"I guess, let's go skate." He got up.
"We just ate." Taylor said.
"Skating slowly, like we always do when we eat." Cameron said.
We skated slowly. I was tired already so I sat down.
"What's wrong?" Cameron asked."Tired."
"Ok." he continued to skate.
Some girls from school were in the table infront of me. They were looking at me and whispering.
But I heard a little about what they were saying.
"Isn't she the tomboy who hangs out with the cute guys from school?""Yeah, is she like Les. or something?"
"Why does she only have guy friends?"
"She a hoe."
I looked at them and they saw me. I faked smiled and slowly pulled out my finger at them.
They gasped and moved tables. Like if y'all going to whisper, whisper, not loud whispering.
I'm pretty much judged and harassed at school. People call me names because I hang out with pure guys. They assume things and make rumors. I hate it but I'm use to it and I pull out the famous finger at them."Let's go!" Cameron said as he stopped skating.
We removed our skates. We rode home. The guys took their separate ways.
"Laters!" They all yell.
Cameron and I took the bike back. I always ride on the back.Did I mention he's my neighbor?"I'm home people!" I yelled and dropped my skates.
"Hello sweetie and other sweetie!" Mom smiled.
She calls Cameron sweetie because he's like a son to her.
"Dinner is almost ready."We sat down on the couch and flipped through the channels.
"Charlie! Jackie!" Mom yelled.
The Voice was on tv. Cameron and I love the voice.
Cameron and I usually act like we are singers and lip sync to the songs.
We are too silly.
"Oooh baby baby!" I sang."Shut up, you will be the cause I will be wearing hearing aids!" My big sister Jackie smacked me behind my head.
"And you will be the cause of pollution with the amount of perfume and hair spray you shower in!" I said.
"Enough girls." mom said as she laid food on the table.
"Staying for dinner Cam?" Mom asked.
"Sure." he sat and licked his lips.
My little brother, Charlie, 11,was devouring the chicken and pasta."I'm home!" Dad said as he walked in.
He washed his hands and kissed my mom.
"Sup Cam! Did you see the dodgers last night." he ask as he sat down."Yes! They were great!" He said.
"Totally, those home runs were amazing!" I said.
"Please no baseball talk in the table" Jackie gaged. "Rosie, shouldn't you be talking about purses and nails!?" Jackie Said.
Jackie is 2 years older than me, college sophomore at UC Irvine. She is every thing a guy would look for, I guess, except for her little attitude she gives at time and her bossiness. She is girly, pretty, smart, fashionable, fit, and fluffy, fluffy in like fluffy pink pillows and carpet. She dislikes the fact I'm not like her, girly. She is always complaining about how she wants to curl my hair and cover my face with those pastel colors, makeup, right?Dinner was over.
"I'm out." Jackie said as she left.
I walked Cameron home.
"See you tomorrow, partner in crime?" I said."Yes." he smiled.
We did our long time handshake."Night." I said and walked to my room.
Cameron is the best. I could never ask for a better best friend. He is the MVP.
I hope it can be like this forever, always close to each other.
