(Nathan's POV)

Once the rank match was over, I walked back into the school. Seemingly glaring into nowhere."Where are you John?" I quickly made it to the second floor. "I know you're here."

I sense the aura channels of someone very powerful walking up to me from behind. The channels are so big that this person good easily be a god-tier. "John."

I turn around and he crashes into me. I grab him by the hand and drag him into an empty classroom. "John, you are so-"

"You really did dethrone Arlo!" John spoke excitedly. However, just as quickly as the snow melts on a summer day, the smile on his face went away. "But... we said neither of us would be a Royal, so we could stay out of the hierarchy... now you're King."

I sigh and grab his shoulders. "I know what we said and don't worry, I have a plan." My stare hardens. "But we should really talk about why you were watching the fight."

"Uh," John tried to move out of my grip but I hold him tighter.

"I told you to stay in the infirmary."

"It's fine, Doc let me go."

"Yeah right, you liar." I sigh in annoyance but let go. "Speaking of the infirmary, I have to go there."

I leave John in the classroom and join Remi on her way to the Infirmary. Both Blyke and Isen stare at me as I walk up to them. Remi is still carrying Arlo.

"I can take him from here." I gesture to Remi.

"It's okay." She says. "I don't think Arlo would want the person who beat him to take him to the infirmary." With that Remi, Blyke, and Isen walk away.

I stay behind, staring at them. I can tell they are whispering about me. I sigh and start to leave the campus. It's the end of the day and I need to go home.

(Remi's POV)

I place Arlo down on the bed. As I sit beside him I smile as I can hear Isen and Blyke trying to argue with Doc. We all know how much he hates working longer days.

The noise soon quiets as Isen and Blyke walk up to me. We all sit in silence. Some people might ask why we take this much care with Arlo, but what can I say, Arlo is my friend. And not only was he my friend, but he was also my brother's. And friends look out for each other even when we make mistakes.

Blyke is the first one to talk. "So what now?" He says looking straight at me. "What do we do?"

"What do you mean what now?" I look at Blyke. "The school moves on like before. Arlo has been dethroned. I am no longer Jack."

"And you're okay with that?!" Isen asks me in shock.

"Well, what do you want me to do? Nathan is clearly stronger than Arlo. We should also take into consideration what Arlo would want."

"What do you think he would want?" Isen questions with an indifferent tone.

"Arlo spent all of his time protecting the hierarchy. We should respect it and accept Nathan as the new King." I finish my sentence expecting to hear more questions but am instead greeted by silence.

"Nah, bro." Isen quickly states. "If I know anything about Arlo, he will still try and fight against Nathan even though he's the new King."

Blyke bursts into a fit of laughter, holding his stomach. "That is so true."

"Ah, guys." I try to tell them to stop, noticing movement on the bed, but Isen cuts in.

"He only loved the hierarchy when he was King. Now that he isn't, he's gonna do all he can to make Nathan miserable."
