The Phantom of the Opera [ishimondo]

ACT 1 SCENE 9

Byakuya Togami:
Gentlemen, if you would care to take your seats? I shall be sitting in Box Five.

Makoto Naegi:
Do you really think that's a smart idea, Togami?

Byakuya Togami:
It seems there is no other choice. The rest of the seats are full.

(The stage curtains are drawn, revealing a set of a bedroom. Three servants are center stage)

Servant 1:
They say that his youth has set my Lady's heart aflame!

Servant 2:
His Lordship sure would die of shock!

Servant 3:
His Lordship is a laughing-stock!

Servant 1:
Should he suspect her, God protect her!

All Three:
Shame! Shame! Shame!

(The bed curtains are drawn to see Junko and Kiyotaka who is disguised as Junko's maid)

Junko Enoshima:
Serafimo - your disguise is perfect!

(there is a knock at the door)

Who could this be?

Gundham Tanaka:
Loving wife, greet your loving husband!
My love - I am called to England on affairs of State and must leave you with your new maid. However, I would happily take your maid with me!

Junko Enoshima:
The old fool is leaving!

Gundham Tanaka:
I suspect my loving wife is untrue to me, so I shall hide over here.
Goodbye, my love!

Junko Enoshima:
Adios!

(Gundham hides at the side of the stage, pretending to leave)

Junko Enoshima:
Serafimo! Away with the disguise!

(Kiyotaka rips his skirt off to reveal a pair of manly trowsers)

You cannot speak, but kiss me in my husband's absence!

(Junko unfolds a hand fan, fake kissing Kiyotaka behind it)

Poor fool, he makes me laugh! Haha, haha! Time I tried to get a better better half!
Poor fool, he doesn't know! Hoho, hoho! If he knew the truth, he'd never, ever go!

(suddenly from no where, the Phantom's voice is heard)

Mondo Owada (voice):
Did I not instruct that Box Five was to be left empty?

Kaede Akamatsu:
He's here: The Phantom of the Opera..

Kiyotaka Ishimaru:
It's him...I know it...It's him...

Junko Enoshima:
Your part is silent, little toad!

Mondo Owada (voice):
A toad, madame? Perhaps it is you who is the toad...

(a few moments pass and the play continues)

Junko Enoshima:
Old fool, he makes me- *croak*
Old fool, he m- *croak croak ect*

(Junko runs off stage, embarrassed)

Mondo Owada (voice):
Behold! She is croaking to bring down the chandelier!

Junko Enoshima (sobbing)
No, no, I can't go back on!

Gundham Tanaka:
Mortal, mortal, I am here. It is alright, come here.

(the curtains close and Hajime and Makoto walk infront of them)

Hajime Hinata:
Ladies and gentlemen, the performance will continue in ten minutes...

(he keeps looking up at Box Five and the chandelier)

...when Kiyotaka Ishimaru will be playing the role of Countess!

Makoto Naegi:
In the meantime, uh, the ballet from Act Three!
Ibuki? The ballet. Now!

(They both leave stage and the ballet dancers come on. a few moments pass and Teruteru falls onto the stage with a noose tight around his neck)

Kiyotaka Ishimaru:
Byakuya! Byakuya help!

Byakuya Togami:
Kiyotaka, come with me!

Kiyotaka Ishimaru:
No, go to the roof! We will be safe there!

(police men rush to the stage as Makoto and Hajime try to calm the audience)
