LIFE IMAGINED

13

Avela and Mbuso just arrived and they are still inside the car outside Avela's home. Avela looks at her home and she tears up, she wipes her tears and tells herself that she's not going to allow her father to ruin her day.
Mbuso:Do you want me to go in with you?
Avela:No, I have to do this alone.
Mbuso:Okay I will be here waiting for you.
She nodded and stepped out of the car. She walks towards the yard and her heart was pounding, she had mixed emotions. It's been years since she left, she swore she would never again step foot in this house. And now she's back here, what will he even react? Will he show remorse for what he did to her? She takes a deep breath and knocks. Her mother opens up
Mamdluli:Avela... Oh  I'm so glad to see you my baby.
She tried to hug her but Avela shook he head no.
Avela:Can I come in?
Mamdluli:Yes, come in.
She got inside and looked at the house, this is the place she once called home. This is the place where she was supposed to feel safe, the place where she was supposed to  be free. She looked at her parent's wedding picture hanging on the wall and chuckled bitterly.
Avela:I am not here to stay, I only came for my sisters.
Mamdluli:They are in their room, I will call them for you.
Avela:While at that pack their clothes.
Mamdluli:Why?
Avela:I'm taking them with me.
Mamdluli:Avela where is that coming from? You can't just show up and demand to take my children.
Avela:Mama you're harbouring a rapist here. I will not sit by and wait for him to start molesting my sisters.
MamMdluli's eyes suddenly looked everywhere, how will she tell her daughter that Mkondi has tried that?
Avela noticed that and looked at her with squinted eyes.
Avela:Mama why are your eyes everywhere? What's wrong?
MaMamdluli:It's nothing. I will get your sisters.
She disappeared in the passage and Avela remained standing, she doesn't even want to sit down. This place brings a lot of bad memories for her. The door opens while she's looking around and Mkondi enters the room. His eyes meet hers and he looks down embarrassed. He clears his throat.
Mkondi: Avela, so good to see you.
Avela looked at him blankly, she was even scared to be around him but she didn't show him that. She can't give him that power.
Mkondi:Uhhh.. What brings you here?
Avela:I came for my sisters.
MaMamdluli appeared with her three children all of them carrying their bags. Mkondi wondered what was happening.
Mkondi:What is happening?
Avela's sisters rushed to her and hugged her, excited to see her.
Avela:You see that car?* She pointed outside* Go there and tell the person inside to let you in. I am coming now.
The kids nodded and ran off.
Mkondi:Mamdluli and Avela what is happening? Why are my children leaving?
Mamdluli:I think it's a good idea for the kids to be away. Things are not good here at home.
Mkondi:I asked where my kids are going.
Avela:I am taking my sisters to live with me. I have heard of your sheninagans, I know what you did. I won't wait for you to abuse my sisters too like you did to me. Try stopping me and you will see what I'm made of. I'm not that weak Avela you once knew.

Ndebele is with the commissioner discusing this case of John.
Commissioner: Ndebele are you sure about this? All attempts to catch this man have failed.
Ndebele:I am sure Sir. This recording is solid proof, plus with all his past cases. The judge would be a fool if he doesn't convict him.
Commissioner:Okay Ndebele I trust you. So what about the girl?
Ndebele:Her family needs to be taken into hiding sir. If Green finds out about this, he's going to eliminate them to try and scare off Zimbini.
The commissioner nodded and told him to continue working he'll see him later. He stepped out of the office and went outside. He took his phone and called someone.
Com:Things are not good here. He has a recording.
"Try getting that recording. We can't afford to screw things up now. Where is that girl?"
Com:He is planning on putting them under witness protection.
"Find out where he's taking them and we'll be ready to strike. We need to take out that girl and destroy the recording."
Com:Okay I hear you.
He dropped the call and looked around to see if no one heard or saw him.
Ndebele hid behind a wall after the commissioner looked around. He couldn't believe what he heard, a whole commisioner!? This case just got complicated, but he won't give up. He just has to make sure he protects Zimbili's parents and the recording. After some time he goes back to his office. He takes Zimbili's phone with the recording and send it to his phone. He leaves Zimbili's phone at his table. He has taken down many criminals, he knows how they work. Right now if Green knows about this, he has probably sent people to take out Zimbili. He takes his gun and shove it in his utility belt and heads out to Zimbili's house alone. Right now he doesn't trust anyone.

Mzobe listens to the recording again with Zesulwa, he planted a listening device to Mamdluli yesterday.
Mzobe:So this man has technically raped five people ? And murder on top of that.
Zesulwa wiped his tears once again, he couldn't stop crying. What hurt more was finding out that Mamdluli knew but she didn't say anything, instead she protected her husband. He took her as a mother, how could she do this to him? Avuyile was so young, how could Mkondi do that? What did he even feel? Mzobe looked at him with pity, something Zesulwa doesn't want.
Mzobe:These two will be arrested Zesulwa, and now we have a solid case to bring to the judge. The  daughter can be a witness. I knew Mamdluli was lying yesterday, I saw it in her eyes.

Emma:I'm so glad you are okay my love. I was so worried when I received a call from the hospital.
John:Yeah I'm okay, it was just a flesh wound.
Emma:I can't believe that garden boy shot you. But don't worry I have already told the police, they are probably on their way to arrest him.
John:Why did you do that?
Emma:He deserves to go to jail babe. He shot you.
John:And I'm okay ain't I? Pass me my phone.
She gave him his phone. He opened it and he was surprised to see so many messages and missed calls. He started reading the messages and his heart started racing, how did this happen in such a short space of time? He needs that girl found and the evidence destroyed. His face was even red as rage and fear overcame him, he can't go to jail now. He has escaped it too many times, and this time he may not be too lucky. But he has money, he will fix all this. He just needs to find the girl. Right now he doesn't even care that Yabatha shot him, he will deal with him later. He needs to find the girl.
