february was coming closer to an end as everyone was getting prepared for the second task for the triwizard tournament. no one really knew what to expect but the champions. cedric had mentioned something to skylar about it but he never gave a full details.

two months had almost passed since she and cedric started going out. it was the happiest she'd ever been. especially on valentine's day when he gifted her books about mystical creatures and lots of her favorite candy.

most of the girls in their year, and younger, would send looks of jealousy towards her as they passed through the halls. but she never let it get to her like it used to. she knew that he loved her and only her.

but soon after valentine's day, she went back to usual self as she spent most hours with her face in texts books and rolls of parchment. she would always have cedric or laverna by her side as she helped them with essays and vise versa.

as lunch rolled around, skylar sat next to cedric in her usual seat. he held a piece of parchment in his hands as he continued to read it over and over again.

she peered over his shoulder to read it.

'an hour long you'll have to look, and to recover what we took. but past an hour, the prospects black. too late, it's gone, it won't come back.'

she pulled away, staring at it confused, "is that what the clue is for the next task?" she questioned.

"yeah. i'm just not quite sure what it means." he sighed.

skylar took a sip of her pumpkin juice. "well, i'm pretty sure it's saying that the task will involve something of yours being taken. and you'll have to get it within an hour." she suggested.

"i understood that part." he replied nonchalantly. "i just don't know what they would take. nor do i know how i'm gonna be underwater for an hour long."

"bubble charm, gilly weed, become part fish." skylar started listing.

it was like a lightbulb went off in cedric's head. he turned to her with a smile. "i don't know what i'd do without you." he said.

he stood up from his seat, pressing a quick kiss to the side of her temple. "i'll see you later, yeah?"

"always."

she watched as the boy walked away out of the great hall, his parchment still in hand.

after classes were over with for the day, skylar headed to the library for her usual routine of homework. she sat in her spot, pulling out all her things she needed.

as she began writing into the paper with her quill, a figure stood behind her. skylar turned her neck to see heidi, a fellow hufflepuff, standing there.

"professor sprout asked to see you in her office." heidi said in a hushed voice.

"oh?..okay. thank you, heidi." skylar breathed out with a sigh, gathering her things from the table.

i really hope fred and george didn't set off some prank and framed me for it again.

skylar found her way to the professors office and lightly knocked onto the door. she heard a soft 'come in' and entered the room.

"heidi said you asked to see me, professor?"

"ah, miss hargreeves." she smiled. "well, as you know, tomorrow is the second task for the triwizard tournament." she said, skylar nodded her head.
