Alley cats~9

"Were your ears pierced before?" Baji asks with a raised brow.

"No, my brother pierced them for me." I explain walking alongside him and Chifuyu then look down at them "Where are we going by the way?"

"To feed the cats." Chifuyu says giving me more questions than answers.

"How are your hands?" Baji asks glancing down at my hands in my pockets.

"Fine, almost completely healed." I say taking my hands out of my pockets, they're still wrapped in bandages because I've been too lazy to take them off.

He hums and they turn down an alley, I raise a brow confused until 15 or so cats come out of nowhere, Baji pulls a bag of cat food out of his bag while Chifuyu walks over to a few large bowls.

"They're back again Baji." Chifuyu says looking down at the bowls, Baji frowns and walks over to him still confused I follow.

"Tch we'll find them after we take care of these guys." Baji says turning back to the cat food I look down at the bowls and instantly frown, the food in the bowls is soaked in piss.

"Thats disgusting. You guys know who's doing this?" I ask as Chifuyu dumps the bowls in the grass.

"It's a group of highschoolers who think it's funny to hurt the cats. They stopped a few months ago but not for good unfortunately." Chifuyu explains making me frown.

"Do you know where they are?" I ask and he shrugs.

"We know who they are and where they used to hang out, so it won't take that long to find them." I nod then Baji asks me to help him.

Once the cats are fed the two sit on the ground and start playing with the cats, letting them crawl all over them while I lean against the wall.

"What's wrong?" Chifuyu asks holding a cat and I raise a brow.

"Are you scared of cats?" Baji asks smirking at me while a cat tries to eat his hair.

"No, I just don't want to get on the ground." I say which is true, but it might also have something to do with the fact that in 16 years this is the closest I've ever been to a cat, and I don't want to scare them.

The two exchange a look then Baji gets up with a grin carrying a cat towards me.

"Hold your arms out." He says and I look at him confused.

"Why?" I ask.

"So you can hold the cat." I hesitate for a second before awkwardly holding out my arms.

"Not like that like you're holding a baby." He says and I put my arms down.

"Baji I've never held a baby or a cat." I admit making both of them look at me surprised.

"You've never held a cat?" Baji asks in disbelief; I shake my head and he freezes apparently trying to prosses it.

"How have you never held a cat?" Chifuyu asks and I rub the back of my neck.

"I've never been allowed to have a pet and strays always run away from me." I explain making Baji snap back to reality.

"Sit down." He says pointing at the ground I try to say no but he gives me a 'Just do it' look.

I sit down cross-legged then Baji crouches down putting a black and white cat on my lap, and I subconsciously tense not wanting to do anything wrong.

"Hold out your hand so she can sniff it." I slowly move my hand towards the cat.

When I get close enough, she starts to sniff my hand and I freeze again, after a few seconds she rubs her head against my hand.

My mouth forms a small smile as I start petting the cat and my first thought? It's like a tiny cloud with legs.
