Marionette's POV
I smiled.

"He cares about you still!"

"I-I'm glad that you think that. I-I really am. I-I've been in this p-position before. J-just tell him t-that I love him. Can you please do that?"

"Y-yes! O-of course!"

I smiled again.

"Good. Thank you. L-little girl. C-can I know your name?"

"Novalyn."

"That's a really unique name. Who picked it out?"

"Raven did."

"Ah. That seems like something, h-he'd name someone."

I lost my grip on Bethany's hand. It fell to the ground. My eyes shut.

"Marionette?! Marionette?! Wake up!"

"Baby?! Baby wake up!"

Zed?

I opened my eyes. I saw the ceiling moving. I groaned.

"Baby!"

I moved my head a bit. I saw Raven. I smiled a bit.

"D-did you see her yet?"

"Yes. Thank you."

"Y-you're welcome."

"I-I called your dad. He drove me here."

Why didn't she leave me?

My eyes shut again. The next time I opened them, I saw I was in a hospital room. I looked around. I saw my dad pacing.

"D-daddy?"

He ran over to me.

"Hey princess!"

He sniffled. I held my arms out. He bent down and I started hugging him. He started rubbing my back.

"Mal and Roxie are at school. Your mom's gonna bring them here in a bit."

"Please tell me, Raven's with his daughter."

"He's not. Bethany and him talked. She's taking their daughter to Sheila's."

"W-why didn't he go with them?"

"He insisted on staying here."

"W-what? B-but his daughter..."

"MJ he loves you."

"Y-you know?"

"Yeah. I kinda heard him having a mental breakdown while he was talking to Kai,"

"W-where is he?"

"Over on the couch. I kinda forced him to sleep."

"H-he's not sleeping?"

"No. I'm pretty sure, he's scared to sleep. He went to bed with you next to him then...he woke up and you weren't there. Prim said she felt the same way with me."

I sat up.

"Is he at least eating?"

"That is a work in progress. We're kinda shoving food down his throat at this point."

I looked over at the couch. Raven was sleeping.

"I don't want to wake him. He needs to sleep then."

"He made your bed so, it's ready for you."

"H-he did that? For me?"

"Yeah. He's a great kid. I actually like him."

"Damn. You like the first guy, I brought home?"

"Okay don't embarrass me about it. Your mother already started that."

I chuckled.

"That's Primrose for you."

"Sooo...what's wrong with me?"

"You haven't noticed?"

I started scanning my body. My leg was elevated.

"Your leg is broken."

"I didn't get surgery yet?"

"You did. Your back is a bit messed up too. What the fuck happened?"

"I-I really don't want to talk about it."

"Sweetie you're gonna have to. There's cops coming by every few hours. They're waiting for you to wake up."

I took a deep breath. I told my dad everything. He went back to hugging me.

"Can you wake Ven up?"

"Yeah. I was waiting for you to ask that."

He walked over to the couch. He started shaking Raven.

"Yo she's up."

Raven jumped off the couch and ran over to my hospital bed.

"Hey!"

"Hi. Why aren't you with Novalyn?"

"I had to make sure, you're okay."

"But...she's your daughter."

"Stop worrying about her. Focus on you."
