Marionette's POV
"Did he say why...he reached out?"

"He claims he's a different person a-and he's sorry for everything he's done."

"You don't believe him?"

"Why should I? He's a piece of shit. He really is. I hate him."

"You do?"

"Yeah. He abandoned us."

"You should talk to my dad about this. He can probably help you more than, I can."

"You might as well, be with me 24/7. If I see him...you're gonna have to hold me back."

"Baby....listen to yourself."

"I'll deck him. I don't care."

"What if...your mom takes him back?"

"No idea. I might run away."

"Y-you'd run away a-and leave me?"

"Oh fuck. I didn't think about that. You can run away with me though."

"I'd miss my family. They'd get worried."

"Shit. You have such a great family. Ummm...I could be homeless?"

"Or you could stay here moron."

"You think, I'd be able to?"

"Probably."

I yawned.

"You should talk to him."

"I know but..I can't."

He moved hair out of my face.

"I can be there when, you talk to him."

"True."

"Ven you're hiding something. What did he do to you?"

"Okay listen. He did shit to me and as I got older, I realized how bad it was."

"What did he do?"

"Put his hands all over me."

"Oh god!"

"Yeah so...that's really why, I don't want strangers around my daughter or you."

"Is Bethany still living at your mom's?"

"Nah. She's living with her cousin in a different town."

"Have you seen Nov since they've been back?"

"Hardly."

I straddled him.

"You can see our baby....whenever you want."

His face lit up.

"R-really?!"

"Yeah."

His phone started ringing. I handed it to him. His eyes widened.

"What's wrong?"

"That fucking bitch!" He said through his teeth.

"Ven?"

"I can't believe this."

"Babe?"

"Fuckin Bethany got arrested."

"Why?"

He exhaled.

"She threw a party. She threw a party with my daughter locked in a room. My mom just picked her up from a police station. My daughter...my 4 year old daughter...was in a police station..."

"Is she at your house?"

"Yep. Please come with me."

We got dressed then ran to his house. When we got there, he started pounding on the door.

"MOM! LET ME IN!"

After Shelia opened the door, he ran inside.

"Hey Mari."

"Hey. So what exactly happened?"

An hour after me and Raven got there, Bethany showed up.

Raven's POV
I heard her voice. I fuckin ran like my ass was on fire. I practically flew down the stairs.

"What the FUCK?! Are you trying to get her killed or taken away from us?!"

"It was just a little party!"

"Beth I cannot believe this! This isn't like you! You hate parties! You come back a-and just decide to have drugs and alcohol with our daughter in the house?! She couldn't been fuckin kidnapped!"

"But she didn't!"

"She could've been! Are you trying to get her sex trafficked?! What the hell happened to you?!"

"I need to have fun! I didn't get to do what teenagers do!"

"That's because you become a fuckin parent! Novalyn comes BEFORE parties! She's not an after thought! Do you not want her? Cause I'll GLADLY take her away from you!"

Bethany slapped me.

"Seriously? Seriously? You're getting abusive now? You know this is why...I left you!"

"Oh really?!"

"Yes! I hate fighting! You know this! Yet....you still a argue with me!"

"I've been raising her all by myself since week 2!"

"That's because you let your goddamn parents fuck us up! You let them rob me of everything! Her first words were "dadda" weren't they?!"

"Why do you care?!"

"She's my daughter! I'm supposed to care! You do not understand the pain you caused. You let your parents drill the fact that...I didn't want anything to do with you and Novalyn was real!"

"I fucking hate you Raven Zed!"

"I fucking hate you Bethany Cross! I thought we could peacefully co parent but noOoO! You shut me out...now it's time for ME to shut YOU out!"

"You're too nice to do that!"

"How would you know?! You were gone for years! People change!"

Bethany slapped me again.

"Would you stop that?!"

"You can't shut me out! I'm her mother!"

"And I'm her fucking father! You've been raising her! I haven't!"
