"Sounds like a plan to me. I'm sure I'll need a swim after practicing in this heat."
"Do you have to wear your goalie shirt while you practice?"
"No, thank goodness. Most of the guys will likely be shirtless in this heat."
"The ONE practice I can't make and y'all go half naked?!"
He smirks, and I sit here looking out the window. Picturing the team running around like soccer models, glistening. Now I want to cancel my lessons and go. I know I can't do that, but I'm still tempted to!
"You see all them like that at Parker's anyways."
"Not all of them. Damn, I'll have to have Sammie take pictures."
He laughs and starts driving back to my work.
"Should I be jealous you want to watch other men run around half naked?"
"No, you're the only one I'd be watching anyways. If it's anything like the view I got this morning, I wouldn't be able to keep my eyes off of you."
I run my hand up his thigh. He places his hand on mine to stop it, and then laces our fingers together to make me behave.
"Four days, angel."
"Party pooper."
He squeezes my hand. We listen to music on the way back and I sing along. I can see him smiling out of the corner of my eye, but don't let it effect me. As we pull in, there's no spots near the staff entrance. There is one right next to the patient entrance though, so he parks there. We are allowed to use that one, we just don't usually.
He's looking at the fancy car next to him, so I take this as my chance to lean in close to him and try to startle him when he turns around. I manage to do just that. He turns back and jumps when he realizes how close I am.
"Boo."
I burst out laughing and he sits there trying to collect himself again. I turn his face so I can reach his lips, and kiss him before hopping out of the truck.
"Have a good rest of your work day baby. I love you."
He still sits there shocked. I close the door and head in before I'm late. Four o'clock rolls around sooner than I thought it would. I finish cleaning my last room and then grab my things and head out. Saying goodbye to Rachel on my way, and wishing her a happy vacation. She reminds me that the shift I'm taking for her tomorrow is an 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., as Dr. Katie works shorter hours on Friday. Georgia will be in for Dr. Jeff, and we'll have Alaina in for Dr. Mike. I'm really not looking forward to working with her again, but I'm interested to see if she'll say anything about Parker.
I've felt pretty good today. Lots of energy. Still on my period, but the bloating and cramping have gone way down. This usually happens after the first two death days of my period. I'll take it though. I know Dylan's been enjoying seeing me like this again. I get to Dylan's and head inside to change. I slip into my black one piece swimsuit, and slide on pastel tie dye activewear shorts. I debate on putting my tank top on overtop, but it's too hot outside for that. Riley finds me after I leave the bathroom. I get her to shake a paw and roll over before getting her a treat. The glass slider is closed, but I can see Dylan out by the grill. He looks so in his element. He closes the grill and turns to come back in. He spots me standing here leaning up against the door and smiles. I move out of the way and he comes in. He wraps his arms around me and hugs me tight.
"You're so hot!"
"That's what happens when it's sweltering outside and you have to stand in front of a hot grill."
