Chapter 6~ Strawberry Hat

"So... how why did you decide to transfer to Ivuria?"

Jules said as they walked to the after-school hours cafe. Some of the other students were mingling and chatting as this cafe has been quite a hot spot for the students since its opening. 

Jules wore a pink dress with a Strawberry hat. Bellamy wore grey sweatpants and his usual scarf covering his face.

Bellamy just gestured for Jules to order something and ignored her question.

Jules looked disappointed and just said,

"I'll just have a strawberry lemonade!"

"Great coming right up! And for you sir?"

The cashier said and Bellamy just stood there.

"Do you want something?"

Jules said with big eyes and Bellamy just slowly turned to her and said,

"No" 

He then proceeded to sit down at a table.

Jules paid for her order and then found herself at the seat next to him. She said,

"So like I was saying before, how~"

"Do you enjoy your studies?"

Jules looked shocked as he just cut her off. Her mind scrambled and she said,

"Yeah I suppose so~ I mean everyone here is nice if you ignore the arguing about halflings and such..."

"Halflings... very interesting. You don't suppose you'll enlighten me on these things. Seeing as you are one yourself."

"Oh, sure I guess... well halflings are basically people who don't belong to one primal source. Tori and her Nephew Cricket spread a lot of awareness about halflings to try and get us more accepted in society and from where Tori started I'd say we have come a long way."

Bellamy stared at her and listened to her every word. Not blinking once.

"Fascinating. If you have such an understanding of Tori and the insect then have you ever greeted them?"

Jules giggled and Bellamy looked confused. Jules said,

"Well, 1st of all Cricket is a person, not a bug, and he's actually the King of Hell Province, along with his husband Aron. It's a very long and complicated story but my mom actually worked for them when she was around our age. I guess our families just stayed in contact with each other over the years."

"Order number 548!"

The cashier shouted and Jules began to stand up. As she went to get her drink Bellamy went in the opposite direction. He snuck off to a dark corner in the back of the cafe and he said,

"Why are you following me, Freya."

Freya said as she looked up at him,

"I wanted to see how everything is going..."

"I know Lucinda sent you to accompany me but I assure you~ go home."

As Bellamy started to walk away Freya grabbed his hand and said,

"Bell wait... I didn't just come here so I could accompany you I-I wanted to meet with you~

"Then you better speak quickly~" 

Bellamy said in a stern voice. Freya said,

"Ever since you came back you have been acting quite distant towards me..."

"Is that all of your worries?"

Freya paused for a moment as Bellamy started to turn away, Freya pulled him around and kissed him on the lips. Bellamy stood there with no expression on his face. 

Freya looked down and said,

"I have an understanding of your situation with your duties in Ivuria but~"

"But... what."

Bellamy said in a stern voice. Freya looked up and saw that Bellamy's face was less than satisfied.

"Let me tell you about my understanding, my understanding is that it has been 500 years since the fall of Northern Solstice. 500 years all because of you~ I see now that you have a misunderstanding of knowing your place with me. You are an assistant. My assistant. Nothing more and definitely..."

Bellamy leaned down to be face to face with her. Freya had tears cowering her bottom eyelashes as he said,

"nothing less~"

Bellamy walked back to his table and left Freya in that corner. All alone with nothing but her thoughts~

"Oh, there you are! Hey, where did you go?"

Jules said in a bright and airy tone. 

"Lavatories~"

"Oh ok... but that bathroom is that wa~"

"Do you always drink the same thing you are wearing?"

"What?"

Bellamy looked up to her strawberry hat and then back down to her strawberry drink. Jules smiled and said,

"Well I guess I just like the taste and the aesthetic haha~"

Bellamy looked back to the corner to only see Freya gone. He smiled and said,

"So much to learn here."
