Chapter Seventeen

We rode silently in the shield van to the facility. We made it about ten miles away and the van came to a halt.

"Alright. If we go any further they'll be notified that were here. I can hack the system and disable the sensors for a few seconds so we can get in. Once we make it to the tree line you guys will get out. We need to keep the van hidden. We'll be watching the whole time and if anything goes wrong we'll help." Bruce explained.

I grabbed Lokis hand as we went the rest of the way. We stopped at the tree line. Everyone else got out of the van. I took that moment to talk to Loki.

"I love you, Loki."

"I love you too. Just remember if anything, I mean anything goes wrong, I'll be in there to help okay?"

I nodded my head and then leaned in and hugged him.

"Wish me luck."

He chuckled. "You don't need luck. You got your powers this time."

Tony banged on the door. "Alright love birds let's go. The sooner we get in there the better."

I gave Loki one last kiss and then got out.

"You ready kid?" Tony asked.

I held my head up. "As ready as I'll ever be."

The rest of the group went ahead and ran into the facility. Once we saw them attacking all the guards Loki and Bruce gave us the signal to go in.

I went in first. Tony tried to make me go last, but I knew the layout of the facility better than they did.

We ran through the halls, knocking out guards as we went.

Eventually we made it to a door that read "The Winter Soldier".

"Here it is." I said stepping away so they could read the words. I pressed my microphone.

"We found his room. Were going in."

Steve glanced at me and then quickly looked away.

"What?" I asked. "If you've got something to say now's your chance, Steve."

He uncrossed his arms. "I'm sorry for the way I reacted. I know it was wrong and I didn't mean to scare you. I know your just a kid and this is all new to you."

"It's alright. Look we found him. Once we get out if here and back to safety we can forget about all the drama and become friends."

"And till then?"

"Battle partners."

Tony used his blasters to get the door open. Steve and I went in and Tony kept watch by the door.

"Bucky?" Steve asked.

"Agent Barnes?" I asked.

We could see him. He was sitting on his cot staring off into space.

He stared at us as we walked closer to him.

"Steve?" His voice sounded dull. Like there was no life in him.

"Yeah. It's me. Were not here to hurt you."

Bucky jumped up and I got my powers ready. He jumped at Steve and I almost shot him with fire, until I realized he was hugging Steve.

I smiled. "I hate to ruin the moment, but we gotta get out of here before they find us."

Bucky pulled away from Steve. "Right. Need an extra set of hands?"

He chuckled at his own joke.

"I mean only one of us has both hands so we need all the help we can get."
