"First we will start off with your name and date of birth." He asked, looking me in the eyes.
"My name is Loralai. I don't know my last name or when I was born."
He looked down at the file he was holding in his hands. "We'll have to take a DNA sample then."
I didn't know what he was talking about, but I wanted nothing to do with it.
I guess he noticed my reaction because he chuckled a little. "It's nothing bad. It will just help up find out who you are. We can't do it unless you say yes first though."
My knee started bouncing up and down underneath the table. "I should probably say yes then."
"Sounds good."
I must have missed something because a person in a white lab coat came inside the room.
He walked towards me and I just stared at him.
"Open your mouth please." he sounded irritated.
I did as he asked and he rubbed the cotton swab inside my mouth. The man hurried off and Fury and I were left alone again.
"What do we do now?" I asked. I didn't like the atmosphere in the room. It felt just a little too tense. The only time anyone payed this much attention to me was when I was being experimented on.
"I'll ask you some more questions while we wait for the results."
"Okay."
"So, Loralai, If you don't mind, we need to talk about HYDRA." He looked at me like he was expecting me to say something. When I didn't respond he kept talking. "We need to know how and why you blew up the facility."
"Zola was experimenting on me and he pushed me too far. He knew what would happen if things went wrong."
"Is there any way this Zola figure could still be a threat to you or anyone else?"
I didn't like this. Talking about him like this. "I'm not sure. I overheard him talking about something with transfering all his data onto the computers and basically still be alive." I felt like talking about him would somehow make him able to hear me and know where I am.
"What do you mean by that?"
"Like he transferred everything from his brain onto a computer, well more like the internet, so he could still exist if he died." I didn't want to be there anymore. I couldn't seem to get a grip on my emotions.
"Thank you for sharing that information with me." After he said that the man in the lab coat walked in and handed Director Fury a file. Not just any file. My file. It had everything about me in there. At least that's what Director Fury made it seem like.
"Would you like to take a look first?" He slid the file towards me. I looked up at him and was surprised to see a hint of concern on his face.
I didn't say anything because I knew if I started talking I would probably break down and cry and I didn't want to do that here. I picked it up and opened it up.
The first page was about me. It had a picture of me and all of my information. My name was Loralai Davis and I was born on September 25 and I was 17 years old.
I looked back up to the Director. "You can keep going if you want."
I turned to the next page. It had a picture of each of my family members. When I saw the picture of my dad I started to remember something. '
