25-1
Walking through the well-known sidewalk, I stared at my phone to check the time. '9:37 pm', it says.
"He was an alumnus, right?"
"Yeah, back in our freshman days, he performed for BOTB. I mean, it's easier to remember somebody when they have such a pretty face."
"He's damn handsome, right?! I really can't believe it."
"I don't think you have the right to be surprised."
"Whoa, whoa. Are you complimenting me right now?"
"Why not?"
"Right... still though, when he shook my hand, I may have fangirled a little."
"I think anyone would. He was famous back then. Didn't you notice? When Mitch mentioned the judges one by one, his name got a louder cheer than the others."
"Ahh, yeah... makes sense."
I took my bass bag from my right shoulder and placed it on my left. I rotated my shoulder blades to get rid of the numbness.
The more we got deeper into the street, the more populated it became. This area is in close proximity to a jeepney stop, after all. The streetlights that people went under and the noise pollution from vehicles strangely gave me energy.
"...You guys wanna KFC?" Ronin asked.
The three of us stopped walking and stared at each other. Oddly enough, I had an answer that he would like.
"Sure."
"Huh?! Wha- Cy, you're not messing with me, right?" He observed me with huge eyes.
"No. What about you? You're not messing with me, right? Didn't you say you were tired earlier?"
"No, I'm not. My exhaustion went away. Great! Let's go then!"
"Wait, you haven't asked me yet." Keith raised his hand.
"There's no need to. We already know you're going." With a giant grin on his face, Ronin marched forward.
"You're right."
Like three fireflies, we were pulled by the enormous, glowing image of Colonel Sanders displayed in the air.
"What's up, Cy? Around this time, you'd want to go home." Ronin placed his hands behind his head as he conversed.
"I'm just a little hungry, is all."
"But you say you usually cook." "Don't you cook?" Keith and Ronin simultaneously brought up the same idea.
"What's with the two of you? I get lazy just like any other normal person."
"Well... that's right, but... ah, never mind."
"What?"
"Oh." Keith was left a little behind since he stopped walking beside us. Naturally, Ronin and I did the same thing. As we noticed Keith staring upfront, we turned our heads in the same direction.
In front of us was a girl heading our way. When she noticed us, she ceased her pace as well.
"Oh! Chloe! What are you doing here?" Ronin's head slanted.
"A-ahh... hey." Chloe adjusted the strap of her backpack. "I just finished eatin' with the girls. They're on their way home now."
Compared to the Chloe I knew in the classroom, she was awfully mellow today.
