Dedicated to her for showing so much affection to this story.

Katy Pery's song ET on the right... It kind of reminds me of the effect Damien and Daniel have on Victoria and Elizabeth respectively. Nothing special in this chapter, hopefully the next one will be a bit more intresting.

Chapter 5

Victoria

I watched Elizabeth sleep soundly. She was feeling better now; I knew that because her face was calm and peaceful. She was sleeping beside this Daniel guy and cuddling with him. I didn’t like it much. For starters, he was a complete stranger to both of us and second, she wasn’t even aware that she was cuddling with him as she was too consumed by her sleep.

Daniel was behaving himself, his hands were under his head and his eyes were closed. I knew he wasn’t asleep. I didn’t trust him enough to leave him with Elizabeth. So, at three in the freaking morning I just stood there and watched them. My head felt heavy and I was tired. I miserably wanted to go to bed but was afraid to.

“I think you should go to bed,” Damien who was beside me said. It startled me. I looked at him. He wasn’t watching the couple on the bed; he was rather gazing at me. I just shook my head and went back to staring at the bed then replied, “I’m not leaving her with that freak.”

Daniel opened one eye to look at me; his face showed that he was annoyed. I thought he would give a remark but he closed his eye again and sighed.

“You know that this ‘freak’ helped your cousin and he is also my brother,” Damien said. I looked at him again. Why was I feeling that I have to apologize to him? I knew I was being stupid. They seemed to be disciplined and gentlemanly but of course some minutes aren’t enough to judge someone; so that meant I wasn’t being stupid, just practical.

“I know but--,” I looked at the ground then back up at his beautiful grey eyes and his handsome face. “I just can’t trust a stranger,” I said finally. He smiled at me.

“That is right. We are both strangers to you and you have all the right not to trust us but believe me my love, we have no intention of harming any of you.”

I stared at him, trying to find something that would say he was lying but his face was sincere and somewhere deep inside me said that I could believe him. I didn’t know why but I felt strangely attracted to him in a way I was never before attracted to anyone else. I wanted to trust like no one before. If this was ‘Love at first sight’, I didn’t know it could be so pure and affectionate.

I gave a grin back and replied, “Didn’t I tell you not to call me that.”  I felt even more delighted when I got a smile in return.

“I believe you did Tory.”

“Hey, you can’t call me that either that’s Elizabeth’s pet-name for me.”

“Oh, then I have to find a new pet name for you.”
