No.
Nonononono.
No way.
Why? just why must i have been partnered up with Zelda? Like I said before, she's amazing, but i have no clue how I'm going to communicate. She's nice, but makes me nervous. I'll say something and sound stupid- or I'll be silent and not say anything. Then she'll think I'm boring. Either way, i have no idea how I'm going to do this.
I managed to run out of science as soon as the bell rang. I heard Zelda say my name but I pretended to not hear her. I'm rude, I know.
I met Ashton at a our usual lunch table. People started flooding into the cantine filling the seats. Kay, (one of my very few friends), and her group always sit on the table next to us. She greeted us and ran up to the lunch que to get pizza.
"You know what I'm going to ask you"
"No"
"pleaseee"
"No, why don't you ever bring your own food"
"Ashton please. I literally always end up 10 minutes late out the house, how do you expect me to have time to make or pack anything?"
Ashton throws a cereal bar in my face. I slow clap whilst smirking.
"I'm sorry for your loss of 1 item out of a whole bag"
"if you don't shut up, I'll take it back.
I unwrap the cereal bar quickly and lick it. "Try"
"What the fu..."
I looked round in the direction Ashton was facing and my eyes met a slightly shorter than me, extremely skinny guy with messy purple hair. His grey flannel just hanged on his stick body and his cheeks and eyes hollowed along with very dark circles under his eyes. If he didn't look so happy, I'd be seriously worried.
He sat down next to Kay, laughing as she usually does. Some people left the table and i took the chance to sit opposite her, Ashton following.
"Luke", she smiled, "This is Michael, he's new"
"Hello"
"Hi" we awkwardly smiled at each other, until he quickly lifted a hand, which i shook. I immediately payed attention to how especially bony his fingers and elbows were. Literally skin and bones.
