Annie woke up to the sun shining through the curtains of her bedroom window. She had forgotten to close them the night before, and she wanted to sleep in so she made a move to get up but was pulled back into a strong embrace. Eddie planted his face into her hair, and squeezed her even closer to him. "Good morning," she said.. "Mm good morning sweetheart," his morning voice sent chills down her spine. She turned to face him, and smiled as she looked at his hair falling over his face. He still had his eyes closed, but even barely awake, he was gorgeous to her. She tucked his hair behind his ear, and let her hand rest on the side of his face, which made him smile. His eyes remained closed, so she took the opportunity to steal a kiss. His hand was held firmly against the middle of her back. He pulled away and finally looked into her eyes "There is what I've been looking for," she said. "And what might that be?" He said with a smirk on his face. She didn't reply, instead she buried her head in the crook of his neck and threw her leg over his hips. He let his arm rest over her thigh, but his breath was tickling the back of her neck as he took in deep breaths. She started laughing and backed away from him. He protested, "What's so funny?" But he knew exactly why she was laughing. He looked down at the hem of her shirt and slid his hand under the fabric, stopping at her rib cage. He fingers dug into her sides and she screamed with laughter. "No! Stop, I can't breath!" She yelled but she was loving every minute of it. She pushed herself up and rolled over on top of him. He was laughing with her, but his smile turned more serious as her hips lined up with his. She felt that he was more awake than she realized, and she couldn't stop the blush that washed over her face. She cleared her throat before speaking, "What are we thinking for breakfast?" She was trying to change the non existent subject in a very tense moment. He sat up, keeping her right where she was sitting in his lap. "I could think of a few things," he said, giving her a wicked smile. She shoved him back down onto the bed, and rolled off of him. "You're impossible," she laughed. Knocking sounded at her front door. It was an unwanted excuse to get out of her bed. She padded across the house to find Dustin standing on her front porch looking very pale. "Annie, hey!" He threw himself into her arms "Thank God you're ok!" She gave him a gentle squeeze and pulled him back to make sure he was ok. "I'm doing great actually. Are you ok? You look pale?" Dustin swallowed hard before answering her. "There was a murder last night.. it's.. Eddie, he's.. He uh.." She heard her door open to her room and Eddie came walking up behind them, "What about me?" He asked Dustin. Dustin's eyes went wide and he pushed Annie behind him. "What are you doing here?" Said Dustin. Eddie looked at Annie as if to ask what was happening but she shook her head and threw her hands up. Dustin grabbed a candle holder from the shelf on the wall "Whoa whoa, Dustin what the hell?" Annie snatched the candle holder from him "You need to tell me what's going on right now!" Dustin looked at the ground, "Dustin!" She yelled. "Eddie is wanted for murder! His name hasn't been released publicly yet, but they're looking for him!" Dustin looked at Eddie with watery eyes, "Chrissy was murdered in your trailer last night." Eddie laughed at first, thinking this was a huge prank. But his smiled faded as Dustin's tears streamed down his face. "Wait you're serious," Eddie's face got worried. "That is impossible." Said Annie. Dustin tried to push her out the door, "Dustin stop!" He grunted in anger. "Annie I know you like him but he's wanted for murder!" She shook her head. "He didn't murder anyone Dustin!" Dustin threw his hands on his hips. "How do you know that!" She looked at Eddie and couldn't help the smile the fell over her face. "Because he was with me all night." Dustin turned to look at Eddie and it seemed to hit him all at once. He looked at Eddie in Annie's shirt and sweatpants. "Shit.." The sound of sirens coming down her street threw Annie into a panic. She slammed the front door and ran to hide Eddie. "We have to get you out of here. He didn't do anything, I'll just tell them he was with me all night." Annie knew she had to do something. Dustin sighed "The cops aren't going to believe a new girl in town. And not only are you new to town but you've been seen all over town with Eddie. They will just think you're covering for him. This is dangerous for you too Annie. They're looking for you for questioning." Annie couldn't believe this was happening. She was finally happy, and her whole world had turned upside down. If only the knew the upside down would soon find her.
