The team had collectively agreed to take the day off on Saturday. However, this wasn't just any Saturday. It was Aaron and Emily's two month anniversary.

Aaron had been wanting to do something romantic for her, but he wasn't sure exactly what until he saw a commercial for picnic baskets on TV.

He wouldn't make their date so cheesy as to bringing along a picnic basket, but he thought having a picnic would be a good idea. He knew the perfect place for it.

"Dad! Emmy's here!" Jack called from the living room two days later.

Aaron walked quickly to the front door and opened it for her. He took a moment to take in all that was Emily Prentiss. Her outfit, a simple v-neck shirt and jean shorts drove him nuts.

"Hello gorgeous." He smiled and stepped aside so she could come inside, then pulled her in for a kiss.

"Ooh, you should greet me like that more often, Mr. Hotchner." She grinned.

"Emmy!" Jack came running from the kitchen into her arms.

Aaron's let go of her waist so she could bend down to hug him. He hadn't told Jack that Emily was his girlfriend yet, but only for the simple fact that he wouldn't understand what that meant. Besides, it wouldn't change anything. He watched as the two exchanged banter. Emily was great with kids. He'd noticed this the first time she met Jack.

"I'm going to finish making our lunch." Aaron said, putting his thoughts to rest.

"Emmy, I bet you can't catch me!" Jack shouted, running off.

Emily laughed and chased after him. "I'm gonna get you!" She said in a playful voice.

Not long after she caught him and he went upstairs to play with his toys, Emily found Aaron in the kitchen.

He felt two arms slide around his waist and lips on on the skin below his ear. "Hi there." He said with a smile, continuing to bag their sandwiches and put them into the cooler on the counter.

"I missed you last night." She said between kisses.

"Oh yeah? My bed was pretty lonely too." He turned towards her and wrapped his arms around her.

"Hm. We should do something about that."

"I guess we'll have to. I don't think Jack would mind having Emmy around tonight."

"Hey," she put a finger on his lips. "Only Jack can call me that."

He took her hand away and kissed her lips slowly. "Sorry."

"No, don't apologize." She laughed and they kissed again.

"We should get going now. You know, before it gets dark outside."

"Aaron, it's not even noon."

"Exactly."

Aaron brought her and Jack to a hill just beyond a park where he usually ran in the mornings. It was a steep climb to the top, and Jack ran up the hill with ease. Emily dragged behind Aaron and Jack just a bit. This wasn't exactly her idea of a good time.

Finally, they reached the top of the hill. Emily was exhausted, so she wasn't expecting Jack to run into her as soon as she reached the top.

She fell over and hit the ground with an 'oof', Jack landing on top of her. As soon as she hit the ground she started laughing.

"Jack!" Aaron scolded him from a few feet over.

Jack jumped up and ran away with a giggle. "Sorry, Emmy!"

Aaron walked towards her after putting a soft blanket down on the grass for them to sit on. "Are you okay?" He asked with a smile, extending his hand to her.

"I'm fine." She laughed and grabbed his hand. However, instead of using it to pull herself up, she gave it a firm tug so he fell down just as she did.

"Emily!" He landed on her and immediately tried to get back up.

"Where do you think you're going?" She pulled him back down with her and began to tickle him.

"I'm not ticklish." He told her confidently.

"Come on! There must be a spot." She moved her hands up to his neck, just below his jawline.

"You'll never find it." He grinned and removed her hands, then tickled her stomach. Instantly, her legs curled up to her chest and she started laughing uncontrollably. "Gotcha."

"Aaron! Aaron, stop!" She said through a hearty laugh.

Finally, he let up. "Okay." He stood up and helped her up. Jack was watching something in the grass. "What did you find, buddy?"

"A grass hopper." He replied, not taking his eyes away from the insect.

"Come eat lunch, bud. He'll be there when you're done."

"Okay. . ." The seven year old stood up and tan to sit down my them on the blanket.

They ate their lunch in the warmth provided by the sun that afternoon. Aaron and Emily both put their sun glasses on. The hill they were on was in a secluded area, so no one else was even remotely near them. Once they finished eating, Jack went back to where he had previously found the grasshopper.

"Dad! There's two now!" He exclaimed, happily chasing them as they hopped away from him.

"Don't get too far away from us, Jack." Aaron said, watching Jack closely. He turned back towards Emily to find her staring at him through her sunglasses. "What?" He asked, confused.

"Nothing." She looked away and smirked slightly.

He wasn't convinced. "Em," he called her by her nickname. He didn't use it often, but he liked the way it sounded coming out of his mouth. "I'm glad we got the day off. It was pretty good timing, wouldn't you say?"

She looked at him. "Good timing for what?" She asked. She knew that it was their anniversary, of course, but she wanted to see his reaction. He stared at her, expressionless. "Aaron, I'm joking. Happy two months." She laughed, moving closer to him.

He smiled as they sat together on the blanket, holding themselves up with their arms behind them. "I really thought you forgot."

"Some profiler you are."

"I guess." He smiled down at her. "Emily, seriously, I'm glad we're together. I know it's hard sometimes, at work and all, but I really like you."

Emily grinned. "You truly have a way with words." She teased him. She knew he wasn't  good at expressing his feelings, so she thought it was cute when he did. Or at least when he tried to. "I really like you too." She laughed, leaning into his arms for a soft kiss.
