Reader POV

"Dammit." Killua muttered as he lost to his little sister in black jack for the third time.

"Kay! Now you gotta pay up, brother!" Alluka innocently held out her palm with a huge grin. Killua reached into his pocket and placed a small candy with a cute wrapper in Alluka's hand.

She stared at the candy in her hand adoringly, then placed it lightly on the pile of other candies she had won from him.

"Y/n-nee, wanna play? Or do you wanna watch me kick your boyfriend's butt again?" She asked, amused. Killua's eyes narrowed before he slammed his fist lightly down on the table.

"That shall soon end, young lady!" He pointed at her, determined.

I had been reading a book. Ugh, I read so many books, don't I? I looked to them quietly. "No thank you. I'd rather read. Besides, I don't wanna see my boyfriend suffer the loss of his candy again."

Killua walked over to my side of the table, and hugged me tightly, book and all. "Aww... This is one of the reasons why I love her." Then he gave me a soft, but long kiss on my cheek.

My whole body warmed up at that point. Killua rocked me back and forth, and Alluka just watched this with sweet eyes. "And this is one of the reasons why I ship you two."

Killua let go of me and went back to Alluka's side of the table. My body still felt warm from his touch. Alluka unwrapped one of her candies and popped it in her mouth.

I had gone back to reading this book called Money Hungry. I didn't know how I felt about it. But I felt the main character was just like me. I sometimes keep bags of money under my bed.

Speaking of...

I quickly bookmarked my page, closed the book, and set it down on the table. Then I stood up. Killua noticed this. "Nn? What's up, y/n?"

"Gotta grab something from my room." I walked up the stairs to my room.

I lifted up my queen size mattress and looked for the small plastic snack bag that sat under my bed waiting for me each day. It lay flattened in the middle. I snatched it and laid down my mattress lightly.

After fixing my bed up a little bit, I walked downstairs. Alluka and Killua weren't there. It's not like I panicked. Because after looking around a little bit, I saw them fishing through my cabinets for something.

Killua noticed the bag I was carrying. "What's that?"

"Something special." I simply replied.

"Special?" Alluka walked up to me.

"I don't know how to explain it." I really didn't. I didn't know why this was under my bed when I first found it, until a note was left at my bedside.

Dear y/n,

we're going to go away for a while.

That's all the note said. I wondered what my family meant, but I...

"Y/n, y/n, y/n!" Killua shook my shoulders from my momentary trance. "Y-yes?!" I replied shakily.

"You spaced out, babe. You good. Killua asked, tilting his head. Alluka stared at me, dumbfounded. Then she sat down in her chair at the table, about half a meter away from us.

Killua stroked my head with one hand. "Thinking about your family?" He asked softly. Did he know that my family was dead? Did I tell him? No, Killua's smarter than he looks. "They're... gone, right?" Oh, so he does know.

"Yeah, they're dead." I said monotonously. I think I had cried too long because of that, so I was just, dried out.

Perhaps Killua noticed this. I didn't feel like telling him just yet. He just kept stroking my hair with one hand.

"I'm okay now, Killua..." I whispered. With a stone-like face, he put his hand back down to his side. I still had the bag of money clenched in my palms, which were sweaty from holding the bag for so long.

After a while, Killua nodded and sat down in a chair at the dining table. I stood behind him for a while as he engaged in a conversation with Alluka.

Then I walked to the couch and sat down, letting go of the cursed bag of money and watching it drop onto the carpet.
