"Do you understand what I'm telling you?" The man asked the shaking woman in front of him.

The woman didn't reply, the events of a few minutes ago still replaying in her mind continuously. The man could feel his patience running thin, and suddenly a bang resonated around the room from where his hand had hit the table in between them.

It knocked the woman out of her mind and back to the current situation she was presently in. She looked up to meet the face of the man who was the reason for her current plight.

With a shaky voice, she responded, "Yes."

At her reply, the man calmed himself down, removing his hand from the table and into his pocket, "Good." He said without a change in facial expression before continuing, "And remember, my daughter must never find out about the truth of what happened here."

She nodded in confirmation, not saying a word. The man looked down at her for a few seconds, making her shift uncomfortably before speaking again, "You may leave." he said, dismissing her.

With tears in her eyes, she left the room, leaving the man behind. the moment the door closed, the man let out a sigh, taking his hand out of his pocket to rub his face in frustration. What happened was never supposed to happen but now it has and there's nothing he can do to reverse it.

The only thing he can do now is to make sure his daughter stays in the dark about the real truth.
