Today, Jack Skellington held a Town Meeting and he told everyone that someone new would be coming to visit HalloweenTown.
"She is coming all the way from Gloomsville, and I want all of you to make her feel welcome".
Jack said to the citizens of HalloweenTown.
Everyone was excited to meet their new visitor.
I already knew about the visitor because she is my favorite character from Ruby Gloom, which was a cartoon TV show.
Soon, we all heard a clash of thunder and the lightning flashed.
The Mayor excitedly moved the spotlight towards the individual, and my smile turned into a grin when I saw who it was.
Everyone in HalloweenTown gasped with delight as she spoke.
I was grinning from ear to ear.
Misery walked over to the stage and then faced everyone.
The Pumpkin King then introduced himself.
"I'm Jack Skellington, and welcome to our town of Halloween. We always make sure that everyone gets a most terrifying holiday that they will never forget".
Jack smiled politely, and offered to shake the nine year old banshee's fingerless gloved hand.
Misery gave a smile and then she talked a little about herself.
And then after that, Jack and Sally decided that since she had no place to stay during her visit, they invited her to stay at Skellington Manor.
"Thank you".
Misery said after the royal couple led her to Skellington Manor.
"It is no problem at all, sweetie. We're happy to have you here".
Sally said, as she put a gentle hand on her shoulder.
"Feel free to make yourself at home. And if you require any assistance, please don't hesitate to ask. We'll be here, don't you worry".
Jack smiled politely once more.
After that, Misery was taken to the guest room that Sally had already prepared for her.
Every corner of the room was decorated in Halloween decorations.
There were some jack-o-lanterns that lit up next to the window.
A flock of bats were preparing for their nighttime routine, which composed of hunting for their next meal.
The monster underneath the bed was hiding in the shadows as he waited for just the right moment to give Misery a good scare.
When Misery walked over to the bed to unpack her suitcase, a black creature let out a evil growl, causing her to let out a terrified scream.
Jack and Sally were quick to go upstairs and find out what was the matter.
"Misery? Are you alright? That was quite a scream you gave".
Sally then noticed the scary red glowing eyes hiding underneath the bed.
"I'm just not used to being away from Gloomsville with my all of my friends".
Misery explained to the Pumpkin King.
"Jack, look over here".
Sally pointed her finger towards tho bed.
Jack looked in her direction and he saw what had scared Misery so much.
"Please, sir. I would advise you to leave our guest alone during her stay".
The Pumpkin King said to the monster hiding underneath the bed.
"Oh...my apologies. I'll just go out and scare somebody else. Have an unpleasant night, Jack and Sally".
With that, the critter slinkered away to go hide in the shadows.
"Well, Misery. I do believe it is time for bed. Have unpleasant—I mean!...pleasant dreams".
Jack waved at young banshee and so did Sally, who in return waved back at the royal couple.
Misery climbed into bed and began to settle down for the evening.
As what had been said earlier, she had no unpleasant dreams at all during her sleep.
The next morning, Misery woke up to the Pumpkin Sun shining through the window.
Misery opened her eyes and blinked a few times.
She then got up out of bed and went to the guest bathroom to get herself ready for the day.
After that, she made her way downstairs.
In the kitchen, Sally the rag doll was busy making breakfast.
"Oh, good morning, sweetie. Sleep well"?
Sally smiled when she saw the young banshee walking towards her.
"Yes. I have really enjoyed my visit so far".
Misery could see that it was raining outside.
Which was something that she didn't like at all.
"I'm almost done making breakfast, Misery. Why not take a seat at the table"?
Sally smiled as she flipped a spider pancake on the frying pan.
Misery sat down at the table that was further away from the window.
The thunder roared and a bolt of lightning flashed.
Then, Sally came by with two plates of freshly-made spider pancakes.
She placed one of them in front of Misery.
"I hate the rain. Bad things happen to me when it rains".
Misery said, just as another flash of lightning was seen.
Sally was confused.
"We love it here in Halloweentown. But is there any particular reason why you dislike the rain"?
The rag doll asked kindly, watching Misery use her fork to cut a small piece of spider pancake and eat it.
"My great, great, great, great grandmother's cousin on my father's side used to insist that my family had really bad luck".
Misery answered back.
