The True Great Alpha

Chapter 1

Hi, I'm Elena Harrison and this is my story of how I found out a secret about my past that was hidden away not to be told until I met my new family.

I grew up in a town called Seabrook where everyone fits in, as we are a well-put-together community or so we thought... many years ago an accident happened at Seabrook power which included a bit of lime soda and a mysterious energy source and BOOM... zombies, brain-eating zombies who attacked Seabrook which caused us to build a wall around the town to keep us safe but eventually every zombie was given an organic Z-band which helps keep the zombie behaviour at bay and allows zombies to have kids once again like my friends Zed, Eliza and Bonzo, Bonzo doesn't speak very good English so he sticks with zombie tongue which I'm slowly learning, it's kind of hard as Zed told us that there's A LOT of words for just brain which shocked me.

Nowadays there isn't that much entertainment as the whole thing between Zed and Bucky at one of the football games a little bit ago but then things calmed down for the cheer campaign ship where zombies and humans came together and did a cheer for our school as Bucky dumped most of the cheerleaders for being pro-zombie which only left a handful a people to be on the team for the campaign-ship, I even Eliza joined in which surprised me as she didn't seem too thrilled.

Like most people in this school they want to be a cheerleader to be able to be close to Bucky and to become buddy-buddy with him but that will only happen if you were part of the aceys and you need to be EXTREMELY special to be chosen to be one of them but unlike me, I'd rather not be flipping and been thrown all over the place, that's a big no for me. Addison has begged me many times to join the cheer team but my answer is always the same, no.

Most people ask what I like to do in my own time as most people have after-school clubs or cheer but I like to go on walks through the forbidden forest, ohhh scary. I haven't told anyone about my little getaway so they don't snitch on me! I don't have a massive reason why I like walking through the spooky forest alone but the main reason is that I'm a collector and I like to collect weirdly shaped rocks and paint them as I'm also a painter but I once found a small crystal of some sorts but I asked Eliza what it could be and even she thinks it's a crystal but what would a crystal be doing in the middle of a forest.

When I first found the crystal it was lodged in the dirt, I barely spotted it. Once I dug it up and wiped off the remaining dirt it was revealed, that a beautiful white stone was shaped perfectly like a circle. Once I got home that day I polished it off and found a spare thin chain and some spare small metal wire which I used to wrap around the stone allowing me to place the chain through and turned it into a necklace, almost like it was made to be a necklace but when I put it on for the first time I felt something strange but what confused me, even more, is when the stone glowed bright blue and once I looked in a mirror I noticed a few white-ish hairs but I just pulled them out. I must be going grey already.

But anyway, that leads to today. At the moment we haven't been told to go to school as a bunch of students have gone to cheer camp including Addison, Bree and Bonzo which leaves me, Zed and Eliza to fend for ourselves until they get back which doesn't bother me that much even though Zed hasn't stopped mentioning about how Addison hasn't responded to his letters but Eliza and I have been telling him a letter will come back soon and that it's most probably lost in the mail or something. Most of the time since half our friend group has been gone I've spent the majority of my time in the forest collecting more rocks to paint. It's a weird hobby I know.

I've been walking around the forest for about an hour now and it still doesn't get boring, I don't see how people can be afraid of this forest, it's beautiful well except for the dark part of the forest, that bit I don't go into even though I bet there's a bunch of rocks over there but I don't dare go over as it's said that werewolves live on that side. Even though I think it would be great to meet new people we've never met them or even seen them in person, just in books.
