your feet stomped on the floor of the manor on the way to your room, as if to announce your annoyance with the match you just had. obviously, it did not go well. you were chaired back, and had to watch one of your teammate bleed in front of you, the hunter watching idly in amusement. it couldn't be helped, it already happened, but still, it was taking a toll on you and you were beginning to have enough of it.
nothing but loss streaks. was this all worth it for your dream? for a blind promise of a reward you weren't even sure was certain?
you huffed, patting down your dishevelled and subtly charred clothes. you were almost near your room, sighing as you decided maybe a sleep would remedy for now.
suddenly, the door to your side opened, to which the seer, eli, came out. you gawked at each other, startled; but a sudden feeling of relief washed over you, easing your tensed muscles, elation quickly taking over from the sight of him.
you greeted the seer, smiling brightly at him, as if you weren't despairing just a moment ago.
"were you just back from a match? how did it go?" eli replied after his greeting, to which reminded you of your unfortunate loss earlier.
"erm, yeah... it sucked, honestly," you laughed lightheartedly, an attempt to dismiss the pain; but moreso, you were eager to know what he was up to. "anyways, what about you? are you headed for a game?"
"yes, actually—"
"no way, really??"
evidently, you were excited. it might be out of nowhere, but it was undoubtedly because the beloved seer was participating in a match. you rarely get to play with him nowadays; he was always banned, sadly.
but now, exhaustion be damned! you were gladly playing another match!
"i'll come with you! let's go—"
"huh, but didn't you say you just got back from a losing match? you looked worn out too just a while ago." eli interjected. you knew he was just concerned, and honestly, your body was aching too. but these times wherein you can rest assured because of the comfort a team mate brings you is very rare, especially a match with the seer is rare; so you'd rather discard your losses and seize this chance to let loose and be with him.
"it's fine, i'm fine! i just want to play with you." you reassured him, beaming a smile. the seer just stared incredulously, his heartbeat jumped a bit from how adorably earnest your declaration was.
eager to go to the match already, you quickly grabbed ahold of his hand, which snapped him from his trance. "come on, let's go already."
the seer couldn't help but to just break out a smile, returning the hold on your hands.
"okay, but you should go see emily and get patched up first."
this is me coping bc he's always banneddd :(
i rarely get to play him, or see others play him ahha </3
(it's dogshit in duo hunters)
