When he came for me through the embers, covered in ash,
Horns and wings of fire were behind him,
Like an aura or a shadow... too familiar to be strangers,
That's when I knew that the devil held his hand out, for me to embrace my sins,
For me to rot in pride and diamonds while he held my figure in passion.

She tried to remember it and rammed through her brain searching for the nearest date — yet she just couldn't remember. It wasn't surprising too — it was bound to happen — after her parents and siblings died, her aunt who was a vile woman took young Aishwarya Kaurav into custody. All for the hierarchy and wealth.
Aishwarya was the heiress and one of the last royals to exist in the modern world, her family being direct descendants from the Kauravas and Pandavas. They held god status in India and her aunt was the jealous sister — jealous of her sister's status as the queen.
No wonder they died. Poor Aishwarya fell into monstrous hands and they made sure Aishwarya never had a day where she would have self-love and self-respect. She had to learn about the workings of the world in a tough way. They never allowed her to celebrate her birthday and gradually— Aishwarya too didn't care much.
Menavati once kneeled to her height and asked, "darling, when is your birthday?"
She couldn't give an answer. Menavati's whole family and few of Jodha's friends know the story of Aishwarya and no one ever looked at her as foreign despite an inner feeling Aishwarya had; that she didn't really belong. Aishwarya was with her friend, Vicky Rathore who was an aspiring scientist. He, his mother and her colleagues were experimenting with quantum physics and trying to create a time machine. It would be the first of its kind and something that'll make India raise its head high when speaking. But a small coffee spill and baam!
Aishwarya kaurav found herself in a forest as a seven-year-old with only her travel bag as her companion from the future. Perhaps she would've gone feral without her bag. She had a few things in that bag which connected her with the future; a phone (which she almost died while trying to charge in a mediaeval way with mediaeval things), a few clothes and a small album of the original family.
