If destiny brought us here,
Then I would be by your side forever
For I am not the one who disobeys
The great plan of the universe.

But I'll use that as an excuse,
To see you every morning
As the sun.
To see you every night
As the moon.
Until my memory is full of you.

Rani Menavati sweats profusely, her hand shivering like one would in January winter. Her eyes keep roaming around shaguni bai's dice. Shaguni bai was a witch looking fortune teller, proving the myth that all fortune tellers look creepy to Menavati. The silence in the air felt heavy every passing second. While shaguni bai was counting the alignment of the planets and stars – menavati fidgets with her saree.

"You are scared... aren't you?" Shaguni asked in a rough voice, her intentions yet were of concern. Menavati nodded, not being able to answer properly.

This session of fortune-telling would determine the fate and destiny of her daughter, Jodha. Jodha was absent, tending the puja needs of kali maa near the outskirts of Amer. She stopped Jodha and told her not to go, her motherly instincts were flaring and she didn't want her daughter to be absent while special guests were coming in her honour. Of course, there was a big feast! Raja bharmal isn't the one lacking behind when it comes to jodha's needs.

"Menavati, your daughter's life may have some obstacles but she is full of luck!" Shaguni tells her, her eyes widening with every exclamation– gleaming with a mad glint. "She's blessed with such a great role– a role that will forever be recorded in history. A role in changing the country's fate!"

Menavati's palm flew to her mouth slowly, her eyes almost wide as saucers. Her daughter– she's gonna be safe! She's gonna be memorable in history! Menavati is ecstatic, her mouth opens with prayers to kali maa, thanking her for blessing her Jodha.

Shaguni lets out a bitter laugh, "You haven't heard the worst part yet, menavati. The price she has to pay for it."
Menavati's mind halts. "Your daughter is going to be a queen, yes! But... the queen of this country."
