It was beautiful.
The lake retreat sat perfectly on a remote piece of land, and it was breathtaking. From the rough, mossy boulders by the water to the sharp, defined details of it's romantic terrace. It was such a dreamy place.

This was also why I couldn't mask the visible awe I felt for it. My hands clutched onto the steel material of our boat as I let my eyes explore the sight.
The weather was warm, but the occasional breezes balanced it out. I allowed the fresh air to fill up my lungs and flow through my hair. I shut my eyes and focused solely on my other senses.

Smell, taste, touch, and hearing.

Soon enough, our little boat had docked at the retreat's wooden dock. Anakin was the first to disembark, handing our baggage over to the staff that had been awaiting our arrival.
Padmé proceeded to step onto mainland with a little support from Anakin, who'd offered her his hand.

I arose from my seat, lifting my dress in the process.
When I looked up, I was met with a radiant-looking Anakin, who'd already stretched his hand out for me to hold onto.
The smile on the young Jedi's face was rather peaceful. So were his blue eyes, which glinsterend in the bright sun.
He didn't object when I wrapped my fingers around his to support myself as I stepped onto land. His skin was soft to the touch, which came as a lovely surprise to me.

I hadn't even realised that we were standing on the docks hand-in-hand when I looked back at the massive, azure splotch of nature in between the foresty, sky-high hills.
The sun was hitting the lake in a way that it made the water sparkle, and it was most definitely an ethereal sight to see.
When I returned from my thoughts, I looked up to see the boy whose hand I was holding studying my features.
I scraped my throat and let go of his hand. We proceeded to follow behind Padmé, who'd started to walk up the stone stairs.

"We used to come here for school retreat." She commented when she looked back at us. We'd reached the top of the stairs, and were now roaming the balcony. "We would swim to that island every day." I looked past her, as I spotted the islet she spoke of.
The balcony-like platform was stunningly decorated by florals and trees.

This place hasn't changed a bit.

Padmé excused herself, claiming that she had some other business to attend to, and that she would situated inside her chambers if her company was needed.
Now, me and Anakin were alone as we stood by the stone ledge of the balcony.

"I love the water." I interposed. "We used to lie out on the sand and let the sun dry us..." My voice faded away as I got pulled back into my memories.
