The next day, late at night...

"I'm not a fan of puppeteers, but I've a nagging fear that someone else is pulling at the strings!"

"Something terrible is going down through the entire town, wreaking anarchy and all it brings!"

"I can't sit idly, no I can't move at all! I curse the name, the one behind it all..."

"Discord! I'm howling at the moon."

"And sleeping in the middle of a summer afternoon."

"Discord! Whatever did we do?"

"To make you take our world away?"

"Discord! Are we your prey alone?"

"Or are we just a stepping stone for taking back the throne?"

"Discord! We won't take it anymore."

"So take your tyranny away!"

"I'm fine with changing status quo, but not in letting go, now the world is being torn apart!"

"A terrible catastrophe played by your symphony, what a terrifying work of art!"

"I can't sit idly, no I can't move at all! I curse the name, the one behind it all..."

"Discord! I'm howling at the moon."

"And sleeping in the middle of a summer afternoon."

"Discord! Whatever did we do?"

We breathed heavily, stupid grins on both our faces. "Now, was that so bad?" Peter asked, between pants.

I collapsed onto my bed, shutting my eyes. We'd done the karaoke in my room, mostly because I knew that I would be too tired to walk after. "Yes," I sighed.

I felt someone brush hair away from my face and press their lips against my forehead. "You did great, schatz," Kurt purred. He had forced convinced me to let him watch.

"It was one karaoke session, not a goddamn concert, Jay!" cried Peter from the other side of the room. In a flash, he was sitting on my other side. "Seriously. If this exhausts you, how are you going to be an X-Man?"

"I passed out on my first mission, Pete. Not sure I can."

"Hey, I did too!" Kurt cried indignantly.

I patted his back, blinking open my eyes again. "There, there. You're still a big, scary superhero. I, however, am taking extra endurance classes, on top of the ones mandated by the side effects of my mutation."

Peter tilted his head. "I don't think I've ever asked. What does it feel like? To change?'

I froze up.
