~Kai's pov~

It's been five months. Five long months of watching Regan's lifeless body breathe, rise and fall like a marionette puppet without strings. Five months since she slipped into this inexplicable coma, leaving me alone in this abyss of a world. Five months of the eerie quiet that grates on my nerves, a constant reminder of the void she left behind.

The clock ticks in the dead of night, each second a hammer driving deeper into my sanity. A sudden crash downstairs pierces through the suffocating silence, yanking me from my trance. My heart doesn't race; it never does. The thrill of the unknown sends a shiver down my spine, a sick satisfaction curling at the corners of my lips.

"Hello? Anyone there?" I call out, my voice slicing through the darkness like a knife. The house responds with silence, mocking my intrusion.

Then, a scream—a blood-curdling, bone-chilling scream—echoes from upstairs. Regan. For the first time in months, she's making a sound. I bolt up the stairs, two at a time, my mind a twisted knot of curiosity and anticipation.

I burst into her room, and there she is. Regan. Eyes wide with terror, her body writhing in pain as a shadowy figure looms over her, a gleaming katana in its hand. The blade plunges into her flesh, crimson splattering like a grotesque work of art. And then, as swiftly as it appeared, the figure vanishes into the night, leaving nothing but the echo of her scream and the scent of blood in the air.

Regan's eyes lock onto mine, a silent plea, a desperate cry for help. But all I can do is stand there, my mind whirling with dark fascination. The nightmare had just begun, and I knew one thing for certain: I was no longer alone.

~ Regan's pov~

I wake up to a stabbing pain and a terrified Kai hovering over me. But there's something else—a ravenous hunger for blood. Not a vampire, at least not yet.

"Kai... what the hell is going on?" I gasp, pulling the sword me.

"Regan, you've been in a coma for five months. Are you okay?"

"Yeah, but I'm hungry... for blood. I swear I'm not a vampire..........at least I'm not supposed to be....yet"

" Wait what do you mean yet"

"Don't worry about it you will find out why soon"

"Ok but that was only something my father can do sending something in here and he was probably trying to kill you. So we need to leave, now. I've prepared everything. We have five minutes to get to the cave. Do you remember the spell?"

"Of course. Let's go. Grab a blood bag from the basement. The Salvatore brothers always kept them there." I struggle to my feet as Kai rushes off.

Outside, the night air feels like freedom. Kai soon returns with a blood bag. "I've got everything. Here's your blood bag. Let's go."

I tear it open, the blood fueling my resolve. "Good. Let's move," I say, my hunger for revenge driving us into the night.

                                                                         -Once In The Cave-

"Are you ready, princess?" Kai asks, worry evident in his voice. This is his last shot at freedom, and he knows it.

"Yeah, let's get this over with," I say, pouring the Bennet blood from my necklace onto the Ascendant we're both holding. The spell begins, and a bright light flashes.

I blink and find myself in the Mystic Falls cemetery. "Kai, where are you?" I shout, looking around.

"Over here, princess. Nice to know you care," he calls from behind a tree, then walks over to help me up. "Still craving blood?"

"No, but—" I start, but then I double over, vomiting blood. Kai quickly holds back my hair.

"Oh god, your body rejected the blood. It means whatever happened to you is magical," Kai says as I finish.

"Yeah, but let's go. There are apartments across the road where I stayed before I got sent to the prison world," I say, wiping my mouth and walking off.

As we head to the apartments, my mind sharpens with one goal: revenge. Those who betrayed me will pay. They thought they could break me, but they were wrong. Now, it's my turn to make them suffer.

Kai walks beside me, ready for the chaos to come. "Ready to wreak some havoc, princess?" he asks with a grin.

"Oh, you have no idea," I reply, a cold smile forming. The game is on, and I'm in it to win.

-Two hours being at the apartment-

"Okay, Kai. Now that we've showered and eaten, let's head to bed. We have a big day tomorrow, darling." I keep my voice calm, hiding the storm inside me. Tomorrow is the day the game officially begins.

"Alright then, goodnight princess," Kai says, heading to the guest bedroom. He has no idea what's coming. He trusts me, and that's why I'll protect him, no matter what.

"Goodnight, Parker," I reply, watching him walk away.

I go to my room, lying in bed with my mind racing. Tomorrow, revenge will be mine. They'll pay for what they did, every last one of them not just the Gemini coven. But for now, I let the darkness of the night lull me to sleep, ready for the storm that's about to come.
