You were a new student attending Eastwood High School. Although leaving behind the few good things that comforted you at your old school was hard, you were optimistic about a fresh beginning. Careful to be aware of your surroundings, you looked around frantically for your locker number.

Coming from a very unfortunate and poverty-stricken part of the country, everything was so foreign here. The halls were almost pristine, and all the students had some sort of designer clothes or accessories on. Though that didn't matter to you, as you knew how hazardous and arduous your parents' work had to be to get you here.

Suddenly, for the first time all day, relief enshrouded you as you saw your locker in the distance. You rushed fervently towards it, forgetting about the rule you had earlier taught yourself. Always be conscious of what's around you in order not to make enemies. Your body jolted towards it, but it collided with something else first.

You were thrown backward. Surprised by the events that took place, you were barely aware of the throbbing pain in your tailbone. Above you stood an angry woman with her hand resting on her hip. She wore many expensive brands and the stench of her valuable, floral perfume almost gave you a headache.

"Watch where you're going!" She uproariously shouted.

You then noticed everyone looking at you with both pity and fear engraved in their features. It was apparent the woman wasn't going to help you up, so you did that yourself.

" I'm sorry. Are you okay? " You asked analyzing her for any marks that may have tainted her porcelain skin.

" I'm fine. Now scram before I make you regret this even more, "

You only nodded, walking off to your locker. Your hand was subconsciously holding your tailbone to support it. Although it was throbbing, you concluded you weren't going to let one girl ruin your first day. As you walked away, you felt many lingering eyes watching you leave, but that didn't bother you. What did bother you was the booming voice over the loudspeaker calling your name.

"Y/N Y/L/N to the main office,"

You sighed and trudged your way over to the front of the building, a steady, vigorous hand still positioned on your back. After what felt like hours of throbbing pain, you made it to the principal's office, where you were met with a very beautiful girl.

"Y/N, this is Nayeon. Nayeon, Y/N," Mr. Myoui said, introducing you both.

You held your hand out as a form of greeting, which she gladly took. Her hand was cold and had a firm grip on yours.
"Nice to meet you," you said.

"You too," she reciprocated.

The principal seemed delighted at the presence of etiquette.

"Nayeon will be touring you around the school," the principal informed you.
Nodding, you realized your hands were still bound together.

You quickly pulled away with a flushed face. Wordlessly, Nayeon walked out with you trailing close behind.

"Do you need to go to the nurse's?" She asked, looking at the hand on your tailbone suspiciously.

"That would be great. This is hell," you said, referring to the pain.

She giggled and wrapped an arm around you for stability. Along with the vitality of her embrace came a sense of security and tenderness.

Arriving at the nurse's was much easier with Nayeon accompanying you, but she, unfortunately, wasn't present. Nayeon watched as your happiness dissipated.

" Don't worry. We're allowed to take care of ourselves here. The medicine is just off limits, "she explained.

You smiled again, sitting down and allowing Nayeon to mitigate your injury.

"Are you sure I can't do this by myself?" You asked.

"You could, but it would be much easier if I did,"

You obliged in laziness, lying on your stomach. She pulled up your shirt, but just enough to where the trauma was, and applied a bit of ointment.

"Medicine would be preferable, but it's better than nothing," she said, and you agreed.

"How'd this happen anyway?"

"I ran into some girl in the hallway and landed straight on my back. And to top it all off, she's like the most stuck-up person ever," you explained, upset at the occurring events.

" Yeah, that's Mina. Real bitchy, but you seemed to have already gotten on her bad side, so just beware," Nayeon advised, worry etched into the creases of her forehead.

You shuddered at the thought. Having an enemy on the first day? That's something only the dumbest of people could pull off.

"Who do you have first?" She asked.

"Science with Ms. Johnson,"

"Me too! Let's go. We can continue the tour later,"

She pulled you up off the nurse's bed, which made you wince in pain.

"Sorry! I'll be more careful. Pinky promise, "

She stuck out her abnormally long pinky finger and you hooked yours with hers, but before you could get out a proper response, you were being dragged again. As she rushed you through the halls, she spoke at the speed of light.

"Mina's in our class,"

"Oh, God, what did I do to deserve this?" You asked, looking at the ceiling.

" You'll be fine. Just don't make eye contact with her or you'll turn to stone," she joked, energetically opening the door.

She was so active and vibrant that it was often hard for you to keep up with her. And, of course, the second you two had entered, you had looked at Mina. As you worriedly darted your gaze elsewhere, a sinister grimace that only the devil himself could enact rose on her lips. Whereas her eyes were only on yours and Nayeon's attached hands.

"Nayeon, go sit," Ms. Johnson instructed.

"Class, this is our new student, Y/N. Please introduce yourself,"

You nervously fiddled with your fingers as you felt Mina's longing gaze.

" Hello, I'm Y/N. I hope this school year is great for all of you. "

You looked over to see Ms. Johnson was satisfied with you. Huffing in relief, you saw Nayeon snickering in the corner of the room.

"Mina, I know you prefer to sit alone, but I have nowhere else to put Y/N," she explained sorrowfully.

Ms. Johnson expected a full-on rage fit, but that never came as Mina only continued to look at you as she spoke.

"That won't be a problem, miss,"

Her voice was honey thick and it made your stomach do flips. However, you couldn't help but feel intimidated by the woman as Nayeon's words replayed in your head like a broken record.

"You seemed to have already gotten on her bad side, so just beware,"

Was this all a facade?
