You and Nayeon sat in detention. Mr. Myoui watched the two of you attentively as you worked on your homework. Occasionally, one of you would glance up and send a nonverbal signal to the other. The principal would immediately shut this down by yelling at you guys. You two were sitting on opposite sides of the classroom, per the request of Mina.

When she went into her father's office to ask him if he could remove your tardies, she also made sure to tell him to make sure that you and Nayeon were as far away from each other as possible with no contact.

Though this had made Mr. Myoui begin to connect the pieces of the puzzle together, a random murder he had to cover up. Now demands that Nayeon should be nowhere near you. He knew that Mina liked you, and he knew that she would go to extreme lengths to protect the ones she loves.

Suddenly, there was an unexpected opening of the door. All three heads whipped towards the door, and there Mina stood in all of her glory. When she saw you, she bit her lip in order to suppress another one of her smiles that you found yourself adoring. Nayeon observed her closely, hating how she looked at you. But Nayeon knew she was helpless, and all her efforts to stop Mina would be futile.

"Hi, daddy. I need to take Y/N out of detention," Mina explained, her usual honey-thick voice more high-pitched and light.

"Why might that be?" Mr. Myoui teased and sent his daughter an assuming smirk.

"I need someone to walk me home," Mina said.

"Okay, not a problem. Y/N, pack your things up!" He demanded.

You nodded and glanced at Nayeon confusedly. She only shrugged and resumed her homework. For the slight second she looked at you, you could see the tears welling in her eyes.

Mina extended her hand as you began to approach her, indicating that she would like to hold your hand. You shook your head lightly and walked out of the door, your backpack slung over your shoulder. Mina sighed and rolled her eyes, following close behind.

"You're welcome, by the way," Mina said, increasing her pace so she could walk adjacent to you.

"Thanks so much for doing something unsolicited towards me!" you said sarcastically.

"Unsolicited or not, it was still a favor," Mina argued teasingly, that familiar gummy smile returning to her face.

"I suppose," you agreed.

Mina closed the slight gap between your two arms and tried to grasp your hand. You sensed what she was attempting and stuffed your hand in your pants pocket. She looked up with a dark glint in her eyes.

"What is your problem? I saw you holding hands with Nayeon earlier. Why can't you do the same with me?" Mina huffed.

"Why do you care so much? It's not like we're friends anyway!" You responded.

"Oh, so you hold hands with your friends and carry their books?" Mina questioned in an outburst of jealousy.

"Maybe I do! What is it to you anyway?"

"Whatever!"

Mina's smile was now wiped clean off her face, and only a frown remained. You, on the other hand, walked unbothered by the conflict. Throughout the silent walk, Mina kept sparing glances at you. After about two miles, you arrived at her house.

Ahead stood a large chateau, poised to impress. It had a gleaming door and large windows, allowing those who lived to bathe in natural sunlight. Seen through the windows was a large chandelier, worth more than you could ever imagine. It was adorned with countless crystals and expensive brass additions. The landscape was kept beautiful and taken care of. Behind the large fence, you could get a glimpse of an indoor pool with its own waterfall and a tennis court. You stood there, jaw dropped, taking in all of its beauty.

"You know, you're always welcome to come in," Mina giggled.

Although it was against your better judgment, you obliged due to the pure beauty the manor encapsulated. You nodded wordlessly. She grabbed your hand and began to lead you up the huge driveway. This time, you didn't pull away, which was a small win in Mina's favor.

"I've never seen something this beautiful," you spoke breathlessly.

"You didn't live somewhere rich before moving here?" Mina inquired as she sat down on a large couch made of silk, which was held up by a strong wooden frame.

You only laughed and shook your head in response, sitting next to her while still leaving a comfortable gap between you two.

"No, I'm from Detroit, Michigan, and not the somewhat nicer part either," you expressed, running your hand over the soft material of the couch.

Mina watched you attentively and understood how out of your element you must've been.

"Though I admire my parents hard work so much, they worked their asses off to get me into this neighborhood, and I plan not to disappoint them," you expressed.

Mina scooted closer to you until your thighs were touching. She grabbed your hand that was resting on your lap and held it. As much as you hated to say it, you hated how her touch felt. You would've rather been with Momo right now, expressing your feelings to her.

But you were a guest now, and doing anything but going along with Mina might result in her pulling another stunt at school. That's when you realized you were just as afraid of her as everyone else! She had gained power over you, although you swore she couldn't. There was just something about her that you couldn't quite put your finger on.

"On a lighter note, would you like to go swimming? I have extra bathing suits," Mina suggested.

"No, I think I should start heading home. It's getting a bit late, and I'm sure my parents are beginning to worry," you explained, hoping she would take no for an answer.

"Fine, but you're coming over after school tomorrow, and I'm not taking no for an answer. You belong to me now, and like I had previously suggested, you will be carrying my books from class to class and walking me home," Mina said, a sadistic grin painted on her face.

"No!" you exclaimed, trying to break your hand loose from her tight grasp.

"Fine! I guess I have no choice but to tell the school that you're a good-for-nothing hoodlum that came straight from the streets of Detroit. Trust me, no one in this school will take that well," Mina threatened, a finger looping under your chin to make your eyes meet hers.

You looked at her in defeat, knowing you had lost.

"I'll see you tomorrow when I'm carrying your books." you sighed and walked out of her front door.

"Don't forget to pack a bathing suit in your school bag!" Mina shouted after you.
