It was around two in the morning when her phone began ringing. She looked at it, rubbing her eyes. it was Jay Halstead.
She quickly answered the phone.
"Mm?" She mumbled, putting the phone to her ear as she layed back on her bed.
"We've got a case. I'm coming to your house in.. Around 10 minutes. Get yourself dressed and suited up. You need a vest and your coat." Jay explained.
"Mhm... Okay." She mumbled, sitting up.
"Be there soon. Don't leave your appartment till I'm there." He spoke before hanging up.Ashley just sighed, going to her closet and pulling on a pair of black jeans. She then pulled on a white turtleneck which she tucked into her pants before pulling on a belt. She pulled on socks and shoes before grabbing her harness belt and carefully putting it on.
After doing that, she put on her badge and put her gun in her holder. She then quickly brushed her hair before pulling on her coat in time to hear a beep at the door. Deciding she didn't have time to put colour on her face, she began walking out of her appartment building. She then got into Halstead's car.
"You look exhausted." Jay pointed out.
"Fell asleep around fifteen minutes ago." She shrugged. They arrived at the destination later than everyone else as usual. Seeing as Ashley lived the furthest. Voight explained to the two the situation and they stood around as they found out a bit more information.
It was a bit later but Voight finally told them all to get to the station for a talk and finding out more.
They got there and instantly headed upstairs. Ashley still yawning every once in a while.
"Not an early bird?" Adam asked.
"I wake up usually around 5 for a run." She rolled her eyes, busy on her computer, trying to find the person on her computer.
"Careful then, Voight might put you for a nap." Kevin joked.
"Mhm." She nodded. "Jay can you grab me a-" She was interupted by a cup of coffee being placed infront of her. By the person she was about to ask. Jay. "Thanks." She smiled. They went back to their work. Each of them silently working on their own computers. All except for Alvin who weirdly wasn't there.
"What've we got?" She heard Voight ask before people began explaining what they knew. She zoned out from the information, just staring at her screen.
"Rhodes!" Voight yelled suddenly.
"Yes?" She asked, looking at him.
"What do you know?" He asked.
"He's been in child services a few times when he was younger. His mum and dad were reported of child abuse. He still lived with them." She explained."Right. Halstead, Drives Rhodes home. Rhodes, your off of this case. Go home. Get some sleep." Voight spoke.
"I'm fine-" She was interupted by Antonio.
"Don't. Ashley, you've got bags under your eyes. A bit of rest will do good for you." He smiled.Jay dropped her off at home, making sure she got into bed before leaving.
