A hazy image, but Raven can see it clearly. There is a single window in the right side of the room, afternoon light pouring through. The room is enclosed, the only entrance and exit is a flight of stairs. It seems like a basement. Everything is so vivid. There is no furniture, except for a single stool, and a rope.
A girl steps forward, her face is barely visible, but she sort of looks like Tanya, Raven's mother. She approaches the stool and steps up on it. Holding the rope, she ties a noose around one end, and swings the other above her head. It gets caught securely on a plank in the ceiling. Slowly, the girl fits the noose around her neck and pulls it tight.
In one swift move, she jumps off the stool, and hangs there, in mid air, motionless.

Raven jumped up, screaming. It was the middle of the night, and she had just gotten a vision. A bad one. Her mother had hanged herself. But why?
She was so shaken that she couldn't get back to sleep. The room that the suicide had taken place in seemed so much like her basment.
The next day, Corey and Victor were moving boxes of new furniture into the house, new lamps and ornaments. "What's all this for?" Raven asked, surprised. "Oh, we're just getting rid of the old stuff," Victor replied, setting down a box. "You know what they say, out with the old and in with the new."
"Out with the old is right," Tanya said, walking into the room. Raven felt a jolt of nervousness. "Just like out with the old chandelier that's hanging on the ceiling down in the basement! You can't keep avoiding it forever, Victor!"
"Mom, relax," Corey said. "Dad is busy right now; so why don't I do it? It's time I start being a man!" "Haha, no. You're too young to move such a heavy thing. You'll hurt yourself. And if your father's too busy, maybe I should do it myself."
"Hey mom, why don't I do it?" Raven volunteered, seeing how preoccupied her dad was. She was still shaken up by her vision, and thought that maybe her mom could get hurt while trying to take down the chandelier.

Raven climbed down the stairs to the basement. Afternoon light poured in through one window at the far side of the room. There was no furniture, except for a stool and a rope, just beneath the chandelier. Maybe mom had already set everything out for dad, Raven thought.
The only way to get the chandelier down was to bring it down by a rope. Raven grabbed the rope and tied a loop around one end. She stepped up on the stool and swung the other end over the plank in the ceiling, next to the chandelier.
She still couldn't reach it. She reached over, tiptoeing on the stool. Her head got tangled in the loop of the rope, but she was closer to getting the chandelier, so she paid no attention. Suddenly, a thought struck her mind. "If I tighten the loop around my neck, it wont slip through, so I won't have to worry about that. Oh Raven, how could you be so mindless?!
She did so and tightened the rope. Just as she got a grip on the chandelier, the stool rocked forward and Raven slipped off. But she was prevented from falling by the rope around her neck. She hung there, in mid air, motionless.
