Grantaire couldn't tell if it was daylight or not when he awoke on a couch surrounded by vampires. They were on the chair, the back of the couch, the floor, and even the coffee table. He walked to the curtain to open it and see, but decided not to because he didn't know if it would harm his new friends. He went into the adjacent room and peeked behind the red curtains. It was daylight.

Grantaire rummaged through an old desk in the office like room until he found a pen and some paper. He wrote a note.

 Hey.

It was daylight so I left.

Grantaire

He went back into the first room and placed the note next to Cosette on the coffee table. As he turned to leave, he felt something tap his ankle.

"Where are you going?" inquired Enjolras sleepily.

"Valjean said I could leave at daylight. I'm leaving. I won't tell anyone about you, I promise."

Enjolras thought a minute. "Will you be back?" he asked, seeming somewhat upset.

"I guess. If that's okay."

Enjolras nodded, and fell back asleep.

Grantaire picked up his car from the parking lot of the cafe. His thoughts were a mess as he drove back to his apartment. Were they really vampires, or were they just bullshitting him? Grantaire hadn't seen any fangs or anything. He was surprised at how calm he had acted even though he'd been practically kidnapped by God knows who.

"I'm home!" Grantaire sang as he entered his apartment. Courfeyrac was awake and in the kitchen, making coffee. "You're up early," he commented.

"It's practically noon!" advised Courfeyrac, pouring his coffee into a mug that read "This May Be Vodka." "How were your parents'?"

Grantaire chuckled nervously. "They were great! I see you're borrowing my coffee mug."

"Mine's dirty."

"Oh. Well I'm going back to bed," Grantaire announced as he walked toward his room, took his shoes off, and flopped on the bed.

The last thought in his head before he drifted off to sleep was Enjolras, inquiring as to if Grantaire would return.
