Ghosts don't exist or so he thought. You never really know what's out there. Until you get a look at it yourself. There could be something lurking around at this very moment. We as humans think monsters aren't here, yet we create stories and tell tales about them. Why is that? Is it because we are too afraid to acknowledge such things exist or is it because the world tells us they are fake so we believe it?
Remy was completely fantasized by the idea of horror but, just like everyone else, he thought it was all fake. Horror was Remy's comfort zone. When he is sad he'll turn on the tv to some kind of horror movie or true crime show. They never scared him. That scared Remy the most. He felt like a psychopath when he would find nothing frightening while watching these simple scary movies. He felt like that in real life too. When he would hurt someone else and enjoy it.
He thought there was something wrong with him. At this point, he wouldn't be surprised if he was the real reason his parents were dead. He had been told that his parents were brutally murdered. How was he so sure that it wasn't him that did it and they were just keeping it a secret from him since he was a child? Out of nowhere, a weird sound came from the living room.
Remy makes his way out of his room slowly, cautious of his moves. He was disappointed when he saw it was just the living room tv having a malfunction and not an evil spirit. His aunt who was cooking food turns to face him. "Got everything packed up for tomorrow?" she asked. "Yes," Remy replies in a low tone.
Tomorrow Remy had to go back to that crappy boarding school he's been going to since he was in the 6th grade. This year he would be a freshman which shocked him a bit. He was surprised that he hadn't been taken to court by all the people he hurt. The reason Remy's Aunt sent him to Redwood was due to money issues at home.
Remy's Aunt had to take in Remy when she was eighteen. If it wasn't for her Remy would be in foster care somewhere. She barely had enough money to support herself and her parents kicked her out of the house the minute she turned eighteen. Eventually, she got a job but that still wasn't enough to support them.
There were days when she had to go without eating to feed Remy. Sometimes they went without lights, water, etc. Remy never understood why she cared so much about someone who wasn't even her child. Remy didn't think he deserved her kindness. He didn't think he deserves anything.
Redwood saves his aunt from spending too much money. Redwood was free to go to and they provided you with a room, food, and uniforms. It was perfect for them. Remy's Aunt never liked the idea of sending him away for half a year; however, it was for both of their own good. Remy was so grateful for his aunt. He never knew what he would do without her.
She supported Remy the moment he came out as gay when nobody else did. Well, she supported it as well as Remy's best friend Nevaeh. Nevaeh was one of Remy's only friends; she didn't fear him nor did she hate him. She loves him with all her heart. One thing the two had in common was their love for horror.
Nevaeh loves horror; she just didn't feel how Remy felt. She still thought of herself to be a pretty normal girl, not a psychopath for what she liked. She tried convincing Remy that too but he wasn't having it. Deep down he knew there was something terribly wrong with him.
He took a seat in front of his aunt as she passed a bowl of spaghetti to him. He noticed that his bowl had more in it than hers." Switch bowls with me " he sighed. His aunt looked up at him with a disappointed face. " We talk about this Remy you need more than I do your a growing boy " She insisted.
" That's not fair you need to take care of yourself too plus I'm going to Redwood tomorrow " Remy exclaimed. She couldn't help but form a smile at the way Remy cared for her. " I know Remy and I swear to you I will take better care of myself but, for now just eat the bowl you have " she assured. Remy's face transferred into a look of guilt as he looked down at his bowl. Not wanting to argue with his aunt or upset her he decided just to eat his food.
After both of them finished Remy took both bowls and washed them. As he was washing the bowls his aunt was cleaning off the table." I'm heading off to bed. Remember go to sleep a little early tonight please you know we have to be up in the morning " She reminds him. " I know and I swear I will go to bed early " Remy promised.
" Goodnight Remy love you "
" I love you too Auntie Reese "
