Grayton woke up at 4:30 AM, as he usually does. He wakes up very early so he can prepare lavish food for breakfast and lunch. As said before, Grayton chose to live in this abandoned lot so he can afford better food. And with the freedom of not paying rent or bills, he could definitely afford lots of great ingredients. But cooking them took lots of time, so Grayton has to wake up early if he wants to have delicious meals.
"A small price to pay for salvation" Grayton quoted jokingly.
Grayton started his day by frying some buns he bought earlier this week. With countless ideas popping up in his mind from yesterday's events, he was forced to confront the reality that he still had an ordinary day to go through before making his way back to the fog.
Grayton then fired up another portable stove to fry some eggs and replaced the buns that were adequately cooked with some minced meat on the stove.
"This way of cooking is a bit tricky... should I just buy a big electric stove?" Grayton pondered
"No, if the electricity usage from this lot gets too high it might raise suspicion" Grayton thought, reluctantly dismissing the idea of an electric stove. And with that, Grayton continued cooking.
After he was done he stacked all the ingredients into a burger and slid in a lettuce leaf in the middle.
"Behold! The home-made burger!" Grayton said dramatically out-loud before chuckling to himself.
It was 5:00 AM when Grayton finished cooking and eating his burger breakfast. Now, the real deal: lunch
Grayton grabbed some onions that he cut yesterday and placed them in a pan, he then took some garlic and quickly crushed it and placed them in the pan as well.
"Hmm, what's next in the recipe?" Grayton tried to recall
After a few seconds of pacing around he remembered and took some lime leafs and placed them in the pan as well.
A/N: These are very real recipes so pay attention if you want to cook a great lunch!
After letting them simmer in the hot pan while stirring, Grayton introduced lots of chickens and tomatoes into the pan and turned up the stove heat. While stirring the mixture of ingredients Grayton poured in water and sprinkled a moderate amount of salt in(roughly 2/3 tablespoon).
After an hour of stirring it was ready and Grayton left to take a shower. When he came back he placed some of the chicken and tomatoes in a glass container and added some rice in. With that, he was ready to go to school.
As Grayton opened his door to get out of the lot, he could see a startled rat skittering away from him.
"I should probably clean the lot... Or would being to clean attract attention?" Grayton questioned, deciding that he would deal with it when it became a real problem.
Grayton started walking towards his school, looking around to see people and cars going about. He saw business men wearing suits or what Grayton thought was businessmen until they took a turn into a cinema.
"Huh, weird. Are they on break or something?" Grayton thought, before continuing on with his journey.
After around 15 minutes of walking he arrived at his school. Grayton greeted the security guard and made his way into the building. While walking he saw a few of his classmates and approached one of them.
"Sup Gray?" The classmate said after realising Grayton is approaching him.
This is Vincent, one of Grayton's close friends. Well, for now it was Grayton's only close friend, he had a few before but they all moved schools before high school.
"Nothing much, is anything happening at school today?" Grayton asked him
Vincent replied "Yeah, there's this test, but you probably already studied for it. Oh and theres this affair drama with one of the teacher-"
"Wait... test?" Grayton interrupted
"Don't tell me you didn't know" Vincent said in disbelief, before a huge grin formed on his face
"Oh you're fucked, you are sooo fucked" Vincent taunted.
"Shut the hell up" Grayton replied before getting inside his classroom.
Grayton looked at the board and saw that there was a biology test today and sighed in relief.
"You didn't tell me it was fucking biology" Grayton said while putting his bags down next to his desk.
"I had you scared for a second didn't I? You should've seen your face" Vincent laughed
"Yeah, yeah..." Grayton said while mumbling some curses under his breath. Normally Grayton wouldn't curse this much but it seems that his vocabulary would become much more coarse when talking to Vincent or other friends.
"Now what was that thing you said was going on with the teachers?" Grayton said
"Oh right you know Mr. J right?"
"Mr J? Seriously?!"
"Yeah! Yeah! Hold on, let me tell you the whole story..."
*2 Hours Later*
"Man, this test is so boring..." Grayton sat in his plain desk while staring down his answer sheet that was already completed
Grayton looked over and saw Vincent, not sharing the same sentiment. He was still absorbed in the answer sheet and trying to answer the questions. Grayton then looked at the clock seeing that there are still 35 minutes remaining. He groaned.
If it was any other test he would be panicking at around this time, but today seems to be Grayton's lucky day, as today's exam was about his favourite and most proficient subject: Biology.
*35 Minutes later*
As everyone was excused out of the classroom Grayton could hear the usual chattering that happens after an exam.
"Dude that test was so hard!"
"I know right? Especially the back part"
"There was a back part?"
Grayton could not help but smile a little after hearing these little comments.
"I think I did okay that test" A familiar voice spoke behind Grayton
"Well good for you Vincent, you already know how I did though" Grayton said with a grin on his face.
"Show off" Vincent replied
"I'm gonna go eat lunch alone. See you later" Grayton said before going on his separate way.
Grayton made his way in front of the school library and ate there since he wasn't allowed to bring food into the library. As soon as he's done eating his tomato chicken, he went in the library and borrowed the English Dictionary.
With all being said and done, Grayton makes his way towards the park where it happened...
