The next morning, I woke up to my alarm blasting I'm a Barbie Girl, at max volume. Almost on the point of destroying my phone, I turn off my alarm.
After getting dressed, I check my phone, seeing a new text from some random guy. I think 'Who's this?' Before finally becoming fully awake, I remember the guy I met yesterday. I think his name was....... Oh ya! Siwang!
He was asking if I wanted to meet again at the gardens, so of course I replied to him with, "Yeah! What time?"
Almost immediately, I see three dots, indicating he's answering. "Anytime works for me!"
"Oh I could go right now and meet you there. I'm free until 2."
"Amazing! And do you have a job?"
"Ya! I work at the library, I read to kids during storytelling time. And I help the librarian as well."
When I had read the next text, I was surprised, "Oh! Funny story..... I was actually going to volunteer at the library to day. I heard that they needed some help." I didn't know he volunteered.
"Do you volunteer often or once in a while? I've never seen you there." I asked.
"Oh! No I've never done it before."
As I put my boots and coat on, I walked out the door replying to him, "Well I'll see you soon!" Before turning off my phone and continuing to walk from my apartment to the flower gardens.
Getting through the gates, I see that some of the flowers that still hadn't bloomed, had blossomed. As I looking at them further, I was startled by someone putting a hand on my shoulder. So naturally, I jump back saying well not really saying more of shouting a small little, "EEP" while almost jumping in to the flower bush beside me.
I turned around to see..... Siwang! I stare at him wide eyed, I didn't think he would be here so soon. When I finally snapped out of my little trace, I say, "Um.. Hi Siwang! I didn't expect you to be here so soon." I put a hand on my chest and exhaled after the little startle I got from him.
His face drooped a little bit as he tells me, "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to scare you."
I start waving my hands around as I apologize for making him think that it was his fault. You could tell that lightened his mood as I could almost see sparkles glimmering off him from the morning Sun.
I grab his arm as I bring him around the gardens, explaining all the plants that grow there with every specie of flower that was growing in the gardens. As I was showing him all the flowers, a question arose in my mind.
"Hey Siwang" I ask.
"Yeah?"
"Where do you live? I've never seen you here or in living in one of the houses and apartments in the town before." I questioned.
He paused for a moment before answering, "Oh umm well... I've been planning to move into this town and right now I just looking around the town, see the people, explore some of the shops, and what-not." He replied.
Just as I was about to speak, the town clock struck 1 o-clock. I realize I had to be at the library by 1:30. I quickly tell him, "Well I've got to the library. But do you want to walk with me there?" I feel a light blush spread across my face as I lowered my head down.
Then, I suddenly felt him take my hand, he spoke to me with a calm, no exited, voice as his face blossomed with a red blush, "Can I?!"
In the moment he looked so cute answering like that I almost forget to answer. "Of course" I say to him, giving him a calm smile.
So hand in hand, we walk down the street to the library. Having a bit of small talk before going inside. Which was lucky as the we had arrived at exactly 1:30.
But, before we departed ways, I ask him, "Do you, Um.... What to maybe go on a date sometime? Like maybe go to a movie or um go out for dinner. Anything is fine with me"
"Ya! What day do you want to have it? Oooo! We should go to that restaurant down the street I've heard the food there is really good."
"That sounds great! We could go on Wednesday after I finish my work shift here."
"So it's a date then!" He shows a huge grin that almost out shines the Sun.
After we go our separate ways, I can't help but feel restless at the Idea of Me going on a date with Siwang.
