Zoey had been ignoring James all day, her silence a heavy weight between them. James, ever the insensitive one, wasn't picking up on her mood.
"Are you still mad at me?" he asked, but Zoey gave no response, her expression unchanged.
"So... no?" he repeated, hoping for a reaction. Zoey rolled her eyes and turned away from him, making her irritation clear.
"Is this about me calling you a baby?" he pressed, but still, Zoey's lips remained sealed.
"Come on, baby, I don't like it when you ignore me," James tried, his tone softening as he attempted to be sweet.
Finally, Zoey broke her silence. "Maybe you should think before saying something," she said sharply.
James quickly apologized. "Sorry for calling you a baby," he muttered, feeling slightly guilty.
Zoey looked at him, her frustration melting as a wide smile crept onto her face. "You're my baby," James added with a cheeky grin.
Zoey laughed, playfully punching his arm, and before they knew it, they ended up cuddled together, their earlier tension forgotten.
