The long-awaited final battle with the witches drove everyone insane. Like, literally.
"Fucking shit! Si Ulysses!"
"Where is he?!"
"Leave, Anakin! Mas kailangan ka roon!"
Hindi pa man din nakakapunta ang elders sa Werhonlia para tumulong ay napigilan na sila because Lullaby killed her husband, Ulysses. And they must do everything in their power to resurrect the Lord, or else they will be tortured for the rest of their lives for not telling him who his wife is sooner.
"Putangina naman. Hindi ako doctor!" Panic ni Denrich.
"Me also?!" Singhal ni Violeta.
"Bobo. Wala namang doctor sa'tin!" Awat sa kanila ni Signia'ng diniinan ang hawak sa nagdurugong dibdib ni Ulysses.
"Esme, ano bang ginamit pang-patay dito?" Signia casually asked.
"Wait. I'm still trying to trace it." Sagot niya habang ginagalaw ang mga daliri na para bang tumutugtog ng gitara.
She twisted her hand as she took out something. A little black crystal ball emerged from Ulysses' mouth.
Nilapit ito ni Esme sa kanya sabay galaw sa dalawang kamay na tila may binibuksan. Doon nakita ni Esme ang buong pangyayari kung paano humantong sa ganito ang lalaki.
"The fuck?"
"His spirit was shattered?!"
"Oh gods. How do we bring him back to life?"
Esme's eyes narrowed as she stared at Ulysses' lifeless body, her mind racing. She replayed the events over and over, trying to find the missing link, the moment where everything had gone wrong.
There had to be something she was overlooking.
How did it happen so fast? Ulysses, so full of life just moments before, now lay motionless before them, his essence ripped away so abruptly. The emptiness where his spirit once was was palpable. It didn't make sense. He hadn't even had a chance to defend himself.
Her thoughts drifted to Lullaby, the woman they had all suspected of treachery for so long. How had she managed this?
Knowing Ulysses as she did, Esme found it hard to believe he hadn't seen it coming. He was loyal, yes, but not blind. His love for his people never made him naive.
He wouldn't have been caught off guard like this. Something wasn't adding up.
"Cosmos, I need you to repair his thread."
"Me?" Turo ni Cosmos sa sarili.
"How will I do that, Esme? I only hold their threads. Wala akong kakayahang ikabit 'yon." Mabilis niyang iling.
Esme bit her bottom lip, frustration growing inside her. The situation was becoming more dire by the second, and she felt trapped.
Everything we do now is limited. Before, we could control the realms, shape them as we wanted. Now, we're powerless.
"We need to rebuild his spirit from scratch, but we can't do it without our abilities." Her voice is filled with frustration.
"Iwan na lang natin?" Inosenteng suhestiyon ni Denrich.
"Pwede. Masamang damo naman 'yan." Sangayon ni Signia at hinayaang sumirit ang dugo ng kaibigan.
"Stop it, you two! His genes are sayang pag namatay!" Pamewang ni Violeta.
