I saw a young girl in a wizard outfit, of course, it was Megumin. But what the heck was she doing so late out here? I always wondered where does Megumin even live? So I kept following her, she then went into some kind of dark alley, I was a bit hesitant but still followed here and there. I saw it, a small destroyed shed, was she sleeping in some dark alley in a half-destroyed shed? I could see her crimson-red eyes glowing as she entered the shed and closed the door behind her. I then went quietly to the door and knocked.

Knock knock

She slowly started to open the door until she saw me.

Megumin - "W-What are you doing here? H-Have you been following me?!" She didn't look mad but spoke madly.

(Y/N) - "Uhhh, I was just going to my hotel and saw you walking into this dark alley so I was curious... So this is where you live?" I didn't know how could I get myself out of this situation.

Megumin - "W-Well yeah, I couldn't afford to stay at a hotel..." I didn't know Megumin was poor...

(Y/N) - "But we just did a quest, didn't we? Where did all that eris go?"

Megumin - "You know... My family is pretty poor... So I sended them almost all the eris I got and only left some eris for my food..."

(Y/N) - "Why didn't you tell me? I could have helped you..."

Megumin - "I-I didn't want to bother you with my problems."

(Y/N) - "Well then, I can't let you sleep here like that... I can lend you some of my eris so you can book a room for the night."

Megumin - "Y-You really would do something like that for me?"

Before I could say anything she hugged me with tears in her eyes. I hugged her back, she then ran back to her shed took some things and we went to purchase a room for her, she was smiling almost all the time. After we got the key we both went to our rooms, her room was almost next to mine.

Megumin - "T-Thank you (Y/N)." She blushed a bit as she entered her room. I only waved at her and entered mine.

What a day.

THE NEXT DAY

It was early in the morning but I got up quickly, took my newly bought staff and went to see more quest, It was very early and nobody was there. I looked at the bulletin board for a quest, but all were very hard for a begginer like me.  So I ate some breakfast and went to explore the city a bit more, I still had time until we meet at the lunch, so I looked into multiple shops, and I also bought some very light armor and took a bath. I then went to the adventurer's guild for the lunch and saw my party sitting at the table. Megumin immediately greeted me with a smile, and Kazuma looked at me suspiciously. I just shrugged my arms a bit and sat next to Megumin.

They then started to order while I curiously looked at my card again, another level up for those trees I finished, I got enough points, but all those skills were locked.

(Y/N) - "Guys? How do you learn skills?"

Megumin raised her head and turned to me while holding her fork and said: "Learning skills? That's easy, look at your card and choose one from the 'Learnable skills' column... Oh right, (Y/N)'s job's Wizard. In that case, you need someone to teach you a skill. You need to see the skill in action and ask the user to teach you how to use it. It'll then show up in the learnable column, then you can spend skill points to learn the skill."

I see.

(Y/N) - "Does that mean, If you teach me... I could use explosion magic?"

Megumin - "That's right, (Y/N)! The skill points needed would be absurdly high, but you are a wizard which means you can use Explosion. I can teach you if you want to learn. Or rather, there are no other skills that are worth learning except Explosion, right? Of course not! Come, let's walk the path of Explosion together!"

Her face was too close to mine, so I grabbed her shoulders and pushed her down.

(Y/N) - "Yeah yeah, but I only have 4 skill points right now, so for now there is no way I can learn it."

Kazuma - "Yeah Loli, calm down."

Megumin - "L-Loli?"  Megumin was too excited and too mad at Kazuma to speak so Aqua continued.

Aqua - "If an adventurer wants to learn the explosion spell, 20 or so skill points won't be enough. You'll probably need to train for a decade or two and invest all your points to learn it."

(Y/N) - "Who has that kind of patience?" Who does really?

Megumin - "Fu... To call me a loli..." Megumin said at Kazuma angrily. But she still continued to eat her set meal in small bites.

Kazuma - "Hey Aqua, you should have many convenient skills, right? Do you have any easy-to-learn skills to teach me? I prefer those that don't need a lot of points and are very useful."

Aqua thought for a moment while holding her cup of water.

Aqua - " It can't be helped–but I have to warn you, my skills are amazing! They're not meant to be passed on lightly!" Even though I saw her skills for not even three points... He then nodded and watched Aqua.

Aqua - "Well, look at this cup. Put this cupful of water on top of your head and don't let it fall off. Here, try it." What bizarre skills will he learn? Aqua then took out an unknown seed and placed it on the table.

I then stopped watching them and began to eat my food intensively. After a while, I saw them turn around to talk to a thief or something.

Kazuma - "Um, what do you mean by Thief skills? How are they like?"

The thief-girl responded cheerfully:

"Good question. Thief skills are very practical–such as Disarm Traps, Enemy Detection, Lurk and Steal. They're all skills that are worth learning. Your job's the basic-tier Adventurer, right? Thief skills don't require many points, so it's a great offer! How about it? I'll teach them to you for the price of a glass of crimson beer." So he is trying to learn thief skills? Well, hope it goes good for him-

Kazuma - "Okay, I'll leave it in your hands! Excuse me, a glass of ice-cold crimson beer for this lady please!"
