once their classes were finished, the girls went to min jeong's place to work on their project. they went upstairs to her room, min jeong told them she'd bring some snacks, but in truth she wanted to talk to her brother.
after nearly a minute, chaesoo also excused herself by saying she must phone her mother to tell her something urgent. and she lied too. leaving eunji alone in the room, the girl looked around awkwardly before taking out her phone and distracting herself, she felt like an intruder at this point.
chaesoo knew too well that min jeong would talk to beomgyu. she knew they'd plan something else. and of course she had to know what the siblings were upto.
she tiptoed to the kitchen, not making any noise, and started to eavesdrop on the sibling's conversation, as she listened more she realized it was an argument. and that only made her more curious.
"so what if chaesoo is your soulmate? she is not bad." min jeong argued in an irked tone. as she gave her brother a stern stare. "ugh, can't you understand? she can't be my soulmate!" beomgyu groaned, whisper shouting the last sentence. he refused to believe the girl was his soulmate, despite how much he disliked her, it just didn't click, he had a feeling deep in his heart that she was anything but his soulmate. and as far as he knew, they were the complete contrary, and they never got along.
"stop being a stubborn jerk! I know chaesoo very well; she is friendly and genuinely loves you! being soulmates doesn't mean you should get along instantly! understood? just give her a chance; it won't hurt you!" min jeong retorted, frustrated to the point she just wanted to pull her hair out. why must he be so difficult?
beomgyu sighed in defeat and nodded his head; before he could go away and detect chaesoo eavesdropping on them, she went upstairs as if she had never heard them and just phoned her mother. a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips, everything was going according to plan.

it was already evening, and it was time for dinner; beomgyu went outside to tell his dad to come inside just as his mother asked him to.
beomgyu found him by the porch; he saw his dad sitting on a bench and busy puffing a cigarette. he went over to his dad and sat next to him, wanting to ask him a question; he was so desperate, so he decided to ask his dad for help considering that his dad found his soulmate through music, an advice from someone experienced would help him.
