Today, Amanda and I get a call from the Toronto Fire department to come to the hospital. Our little Hollie is seriously hurt from going on a burning building to help get out a fellow fire fighter who got stuck under the beam when it collapsed on her. We were apparently her first emergency contact.

When we arrived at the hospital, she told her sisters and their spouses, us , Vivien and the Schumachers that it had to be a relative and she was so use to putting her mother and I as her emergency contact not her sisters if anything seriously would occur. We get there many hours later. Amanda called Vivien and I called Alexa and she contacts her husband.

We all are glad it was just a one broken leg . She has her oxygen mask on and the other fire fighters from another station got her out. She told us it turned out to require three fire stations and hers was the first one called out. She was released a little while after we left. Her labs took forever to come back. We all were not pleased it took that long especially since we arrived from San Francisco and Sacramento they weren't there yet .

Sis we will take turns helping you. We all took two weeks off from work and mom and dad are here for a month or more if needed. You guys it's only a broken leg. Hollie Harris I won't risk losing you. Okay Alexa!
Amanda and Jason , Avery and Lisa, Kelly and Tabitha you can stay with us. William and Samantha you can stay with David and I. This isn't up for debate snookums. Yes babe.
I am grateful when I woke up all were here. Yeah your fellow fire fighters left while were asleep. Vivien did Herald make it? I am sorry he didn't. He had too much internal bleeding your chief said. His family. We know. We paid our condolences already while you were asleep. We gave them money to help with their expenses. William set aside monies for them and we all chipped in for their future college or vocation school. His wife did come and leave you this letter with her two kids .

DEAR Captain Harris we know you did everything for Herald as you got hurt when you got him out and we were told a beam had fell on you which caused your injury. Even though it was a short time, my husband thought very highly of you. Please thank your loved ones for donating money and setting up a college or a vocation fund for our kids. Your truly,

They leave us. I start crying.

Snookums you did all you could for him. Your team and his family knew it. If I only got there sooner. Hollie the way the news was showing the fire, you are lucky you made it out alive and more fire fighters didn't die. Even your chief was helping out bringing out injuries people.

I just held her as she cried. She looks at me and feels bad that we canceled our race and I canceled a few others.
We finally made it home before everyone got there.

Tabitha and Kelly parked the closest along with her parents ,Avery and Lisa. Everyone else arrived. Alexa left to go get my pain medication filled at the pharmacy .

We got her settled in her bedroom and we started on lunch for everyone.

Vivien hand me my cell so I can call the station to find out when his funeral is. Okay .

I hand Hollie her cell and she makes the call . She was told the funeral will be in two days .

Vivien please make sure my dress blues are ready and please go pick up another set of pants so I can cut these and have them seen at the cleaners. Okay. After lunch,I will do that.

Her mother brought her our lunch. Tabitha checked her vitals and gave her pain medication. Her ribs were sore but not broken . We ate our turkey burgers with baked red potatoes wedges and a salad with ice tea . Hollie fell asleep.

Everyone Heralds funeral is in two days. I am going to go pick up another pair of dress pants and have them cut at the cleaners and sewn. I already took her other pants to see how much has to be cut off . Vivien I will go with you. Mick I am taking the car. Yes dear. Here are the keys. Corina and I left.

Vivien how is she doing? She feels guilty. She shouldn't that fire was bad. I got the report. It was arson and they are trying to figure out who started it. Alexa has me working on it. I have yet nor the officers have found any clues yet who started it. Thanks Corina. We will find out who did it. She got hurt,Herald lost his life and others got smoke inhalation. She got off easy. I know but it scares me I could of lost her.

I held Vivien's held until we arrived at the fire fighters uniform place and purchases a pair or pants and a black and red band for her badge she forgot to ask me to get. Some of the other fire fighters spouses were there buying them that were new too and informed me of it .
We dropped off the pants and Corina said she would pick them up later for me. Corina took me back home.

I need to leave with mick so be can drop me off to get my car so I can continue working on the case . Please tell Mick to come out so we can leave and the the others too who are staying with you. We know you will need a break from so many. William and Samantha are beat from the flight. Okay I will thanks.

I hug Corina and go inside.

Mick Corina needs to get her car so she can continue investigating on the case. Alexa thank you for having Corina work on it. Your welcome. This person needs to be caught and arrested. We are going to get going. I have court and my sister and brother in law need to sleep. We are leaving too. Thanks dad and everyone else who drove here to see her. I know she appreciates it as well as I do.

Everyone who isn't asleep or outside already hugs me and than leaves.
I go check on her and put this mourning tag on her badge and remove it from her wallet .

You guys I am gonna take a nap. I haven't slept since Amanda called me. We are too. If she wakes up and needs anything wake us up if you need help. I will .
