Forgotten Love

I can still remember the day we met

A bright sunny day in 1999

I was crying but you said don't fret

Because I'm here and you'll forever be mine

It was an instant connection that no one understood

A love that confused many

A mutual understanding way too good

To not be sometimes rainy

It didn't last long because I left

For a far way land across the pond

I took your heart with me , is that theft?

Had I broken that sacred bond?

Sometimes I tried to remember us

But what's the point when you were there

And I was here; why the fuss?

I mean, why should I care?

So I forgot all about you

Until I learned you were gone

To a far away place, where there is few

Good souls like you, John

I will always miss your love

And thank God above

For putting you in my life

Losing you is like having a knife

Deep inside me, John

I will always love you, Forgotten one

Love Sonnet

When I first saw you, I thought it was love

Your dark, ebony skin, your prominent cheekbones

Your sweet smell that reminded me of dove

To me, you were better than Indiana Jones

You were always my first thought in the morning

Always my last thought everytime I went to bed

I felt better when I thought of you smiling

The things you said forcing my cheeks to turn red

But then, all these things came to an end

You started acting differently towards me

And then you were no longer my good friend

Did you know that I did give you that key

To my heart, a place where no one could go?

When I first saw you, I should have said no
