Backstory: She was raised in the mountains with the rest of her tribe. They used to participate in trading and being social with other species around them but when the war came for them they ran. They hid in the mountains and taught themselves how to survive.

You see, her tribe was very different from other tribes. They didn't speak. They used their hands to describe the world around them and it made for a very peaceful village and a powerful one. Their ears adapted to hear better than any other elf (really pointy ears like in the picture). The ones born in the mountains had strange abilities. Not just were they able to withstand extremely cold temperatures but each elfling had a unique set of skills and everyone would help them control it. Those born in the mountains knew nothing of the sounds that they could make as they never learned how to use their voices. Although they were taught the mouth shapes of each word so if they should come across one who doesn't know sign language, they would be able to read their lips.

When Orodil was a spritely young elf she would get really bored with the endless white and grey that the mountains seemed to offer. She would often wander as far as the base of the mountain and discover many plants and herbs that she would bring home to show her mother. That was until she found out her power. She had been playing in the snow while her mother made dinner. She had originally been trying to make a lizard but the end result was basically a blob of snow. She then poked three holes for "eyes". Excited by what she made, she kissed the top of the head and jumped up to get her mom to see her wonderful creation. When she came back with her mom in tow, the blob was in a different spot, and the three holes she had poked out exhibited actual eyes in the sockets. Orodil was shocked, as was her mother, and everyone else that saw her power. As she grew she would learn to create more and more of them. Her powers became stronger and soon the animals she created had real fur and skin instead of the material she made them out of. She could still make the animal an abiotic material as a bear made out of rock had a much better survival chance than an actual bear but having a real bear with warm fur was more comforting than a bear made out of rock.

They had gotten many visitors over time, elves visiting to learn the language and spread the knowledge, greedy men who hear of the powers that the mountain gives to those born there, dwarves who come for the precious water at the tip of the mountain, and a certain wizard with a grey beard and peculiar staff. Mithrandir visited three times before and they welcomed him with open arms. the first time he came, he learned our language, the second time was to tell stories of the world, and the third time was to ask for help with two hobbits. Orodil had immediately volunteered as she desperately wanted to see the world, no matter how war-torn it truly was. Fighting in her village was looked down upon as they were a peaceful tribe and above all the slaughtering of each other's species, so she trained herself in secret. She used the animals she made out of stone for practice so they wouldn't get hurt. Before she left, one of her older friends enchanted her quiver to never run out of arrows, and for that, she would be eternally grateful.

She left on one of her bears who was much larger than most elves (think of the size of Thranduil's elk or Beorn as a bear) and started her journey towards Bree. There she would meet Aragorn who, luckily, knows her language. Then all the fun happens.

Authors Note: just an FYI they physically can't speak anymore as they lost the chance to learn how to at a young age. They can still scream and yell but they can't talk.
