Chapter 17

*Kyle's POV*

As I step outside into the cold, crisp morning air I shiver because i'm not wearing a jacket.

Good going Kyle..

I heard small foot steps follow behind me. The first person I thought of was Serena but why would she come after me?

As I reached the side walk, I couldn't help but turn around and see who it is.

Serena.

"Why did you come out here?" I scoffed at her. I don't mean to be rude but i'm just not in the best mood right now.

"I came to make sure you were okay."

*Serena's POV*

"Well i'm not obviously." I chose not to go off on him about my mom because it obviously wasn't the right time.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"No. Now can you just leave me alone!" He turned on his heels.

"I'm just trying to comfort you so you don't have to be such a dick." I start to walk back toward the door.

"Serena wait! I'm sorry.." I stay quiet to let him continue what he is saying,"Can you come on a walk with me for a bit? To cool off? Please?"

I pushed my lips to the side in thought. Should I? Eh, what the hell. I need the exercise.

"Sure." I said trying to hide my smile because I can't believe he actually apologized and asked me to 'comfort' him.

He smiled as we walked down the sidewalk in silence leaving as to what he was thinking.

I love how I didn't react as crazy as I thought I would because what he doesn't know is that i'm a huge fan.

But what I didn't know was that if the whole 'Hey what's up guys! It's Kyle' was a cover up from his true self. I wanted to know the real Kyle. I wanted to get to know him.

...

We reached a dark green bench by a small, abandoned park.

"Im really grateful that you came with me. I didn't mean to be a dick to you earlier, I just needed some fresh air because I got furious how something has to come up when you're here.." He trailed off.

"Can you tell me why you got so mad?" I said leaning in a bit closer to show him that I am there if he ever needs to talk. No matter what.

He took a deep breath before he started,"Well, I have an older brother named Zach and he got into a lot of trouble before and my parents and I took it really hard. Especially me.."

"But I don't get why it involves me."

"Because, He is getting released from jail today and I didn't want it to interfere with you being here. I want all my attention to be on you while you're here.."

I felt a woozy feeling in my stomach. After those words left his mouth, I felt my cheeks burn a bright shade of pink. Also, they were already a bit pink because of the cool air. But what really picked at my brain was the thought of why was Zach in jail?

"The Kyle that I know isn't you is it?" I wanted to reassure myself so I don't jump into conclusions.

"What?"

"The Kyle in your videos.."

"Oh," He rubbed the back of his neck and continued,"To be honest, not really? Im not sure. There are parts where I am completely me but there are most parts where I completely cover up because I don't want the fan's pity. I don't want them to know what I go through.."

I couldn't help but feel sorry for him. Damn it Serena, after he just said he didn't want anyone's pity. But, He almost doesn't have a private life because of his fame.

Not knowing what to say, I lean in to hug the broken boy in front of me. I keep him in my tight embrace for a few more seconds until I finally pulled away.

"Thanks. I really needed that. I really don't have anybody to talk to. I'm happy that I have you."

"I just felt as if you needed a hug."

I smiled as I checked the time. It was almost 10AM. We're supposed to be going out with my mother and his also.

"Shit. I think we should go. It's almost 10."

"Yeah sure." He replied.

...

We reached the house and wiped our slightly muddy feet on the mat that was lying by the door.

We step inside and both Kim's and my mother's eyes make their way toward us.

"Sorry. We went for a walk. Imma go get cleaned up." I tell the both of them.

I make my way up the stairs as Kyle followed closely behind. Kyle trips about two steps away from the very top and stumbles forward causing me to burst out into unforgettable laughter.

"Shit." He chuckled as he got up and rubbed his knee.

I walk toward my room as Kyle walks towards his.

"Serena. And one more thing." He walks over toward me.

Before I can respond, he places his soft, full lips onto mine and I can't help but kiss back.

The way our lips moved in sync and how they molded together perfectly had me dazed. He cupped my right cheek as he nibbled on my bottom lip slightly, causing me to lose my breath.

We pulled away only a few moments later out of breath. He smiled and turned around and made his way into his room.

Still dazed, I walked into my room and shut the door behind me. Laying down, only then I realized what happened.

We kissed.
