I sat on the floor by the base of his chair, my head resting against his leg. "Glenn, what are we doing up here?" I ask, playing with his hand. The view from the guard tower was amazing. However, I watched the sky turn from blue to black up here with him. It had been at least an hour. "It's getting pretty dark, don't you think?"
"I'm just looking, hang on." He muttered. He squeezed my fingers, them let go of my hand to grab a pair of rusty binoculars.
"Alright." He said, nodding his head once as he set down the binoculars. He threw his gun across his back and pulled me off the floor and into his arms. I breathed in his scent and let out a deep breath. He smelled so good, you might think the world wasn't falling apart. His deep brown eyes were filled with relief as he lightly kissed my cheek. I flashed a smile at him before glancing where he had just been looking. I couldn't see well in the dark, but I believed that nothing was there.
"Thank god." I laughed. He grabbed my hand and led me back down the long stair case we came up earlier.
As we entered the prison Glenn led me to his cell. Daryl locked eyes with Glenn, moving his eyebrows and giving him a thumbs up.
"What's that all about?" I tap his shoulder innocently when we sit down on his small bed.
"Well, you know how that must look right?" He laughed nervously. "We've been up there for a while." My eyes widened as I raised a hand over my mouth.
"He does not!" I whisper, muffling my voice. Of course Daryl would think we just had sex in the watch tower.
"Sorry." He said, a slightly offended tone in his voice.
"I mean, not that I wouldn't, well, ugh." I stumbled over my words, trying to fix what I just said. I loved him, but I don't think I'm ready for that yet.
"I think I know what you mean Kendall." He kissed my forehead before taking off his shoes and shirt. He then laid back on the bed. "Rick told me he saw some 'sketchy people' while he was on a run, and to keep a look out but not make anyone worried." He admitted. "That's why Daryl would think that. We had no other reason to be up there." He set his legs across my lap.
"It's okay Glenn, I'm just naive I guess." I sighed and pushed his legs off of me, before kicking off my shoes and curling up next to him.
"Me too." He said back. I turned towards him, snuggling up to his arm. He turned to face me and looked me in the eyes. "Kendall," He looked at me and took a deep breath. "I like you, a lot."
"And I like you too Glenn." I laughed, unsure of what he was going to say next. He grabbed my hand.
"Kendall, I think I love you." He smiled, his cheeks turning a rich red color. "I just need to know what you're thinking."
What was I thinking? "Glenn, I think I love you too." I blurted out immediately.
"Thank you." He said, kissing my forehead again, his lips curling into a smile as he brushed back my hair. "Goodnight." He looked at me once more before closing his eyes.
"Wait, Glenn, are we dating?" I ask. I felt like a middle school girl again.
"Do you want to?" He asks, eyes still closed.
"Of course."
He squeezed my hand once. "Then we're dating." I kissed his nose before I snuggled even closer to him. We had done this before, but I never really thought about dating these days. I closed my eyes and quickly fell asleep besides him.
