Logan blinked sleepily, his mind focused on the work at hand. The scent of vanilla from his candle blew throughout the room, the soft wind, that each of the rooms in the mind palace had, was stagnant.
The grandfather clock let out a low *chime* as the hand struck 12AM.
Snapping him out of his daze, Logan's breath hitched but calmed after a moment. He lets out an exhausted sigh as he turns his head towards the clock...
..He'd had been cooped up in his room since noon, only coming out once to eat breakfast with the other "light" sides.
(When did I last eat?)He looked to his left, the door to his room remaining ever still. It wasn't anything grand like Roman's, but it still satisfied Logan to some extent.
The dark wood was coated with a dark navy blue, several circuit lines etched in blues along the bottom and right side.
The knob was a light silver, with a simple button in the middle for the lock.
He stared at the door in silence, wondering if the loud chime of his clock had alerted his housemates....waiting...
...waiting....
.......waiting.....
But nobody came.
Logan heaved a quiet sigh of relief and allowed himself to smile a little, it grew to be routine for him to accidentally work 'till dawn. So, a few weeks in, he made a rule for himself.
It stated that he would always drop whatever he was doing once 12AM hit and take a break for at least half an hour at minimum, he made this rule for himself so his overworking wouldn't affect Thomas' mental health.
Another plus side to this rule, it gave Logan free time that he wouldn't usually allow himself in favor of efficiency. It also gave him time away from the other sides in the calm of the night.
Don't get him wrong, he enjoyed his other housemates' company from time to time. But sometimes it felt like the others were disregarding his presence as if he wasn't even there....
He shook his head softly, no, surely they weren't doing that..
(Perhaps I wasn't speaking to them as casually as I thought I have..)Logan stood up from his office chair, making a mental note to himself and walked to his wardrobe. He changed into a more comfortable outfit, an outfit he'd be damned if another side saw him in, before walking to the left of his bed.
There, stood a large bookshelf that was slotted between the door to his bathroom and the fairly small table of his night stand. His hand roamed along the book's spines as he mentally read off the titles and struggled to choose a book..
(Which one shall I read for tonight....)His hand stopped at a book with a purple cover and golden text, he gently traced his finger along the title of the book.
"A Kingdom In The Stars"
It was one of the few 'special books' he had on the shelf, it wasn't like the other books he had that covered the book shelves from the mid to the bottom.
Unlike most of the books on his shelf, this book was from the small section of the shelf that didn't exist outside Thomas' mind. A small section of books that he kept just above the mid section of the shelf where below were some of the books Thomas had read in the past.
Logan bought this book from a store in Roman's kingdom, he suspected that Roman subconsciously created this book,
(Perhaps during of his "creative visions"?)
Well, despite Roman creating the book, It held some decent world-building that wasn't just medieval fantasy. Questions about Roman's nature and abilities flooded his mind, it irked him slightly, knowing he couldn't just ask Roman about it due to the suspicious tone these questions give off to someone who isn't used to them...
Being "logic" doesn't simply stop at Thomas' knowledge, it extends over to Thomas' curiosity. So consequently, like Roman's love for theater, Virgil's love for general goth and Patton's love for cute animals....Logan's curiosity has him gaining a love for topics of astral origin.
fitting, yet unexpected.
Logan hasn't openly shown the others any interest in other topics aside from Crofters and analysis; But with the many mysteries surrounding space...its no surprise, to someone that knows the logical side, that Logan would take interest in it.
He gently pulled on the sides of the cover and took the book out, resting it on the palm of his hands. The logical side rereads the book title and smiles softly that despite the book having several scientific accuracies, the storyline is still mostly fictional.
(...Roman is still Roman, but this'll do.)Logan held the book in his hands as he walked over to his bed, lifting up the covers and crawling under it. He sat up against his headboard and draped the sheets over his legs as he turned to the first page...

First chapter of my first book! This was originally going to be much longer but 'cuz I delayed this soo much school caught up to me, and I had to cut it so I could atleast post something.Did you catch the title's message?
There's a reason why there's an arrow on it! I'll be putting similar titles on the rest of the chapters too!Its pretty easy to figure out, since I don't plan on going too deep with this...yet.
Here's a big hint for you readers: 'Search the Tarot Cards'
...What do I mean when I say I don't plan on going too deep with this title clues yet?
Well, I'm going to answer why the titles are even like that in the next chapter. So to be vague enough...Originally, when I thought about clues in the title--My mind swirled around until I thought about making a small ARG
;p it'll be quite the work, so I'm not sure if I'll follow through with it....but its still an idea
Until then..
