I Almost Do

Chapter 1

"Are you sure that you want to go to paris? There's so many beautiful places here why go somewhere so far away from us dear?" Mother asked while folding my clothes to pack them

"Well there's a lot more to see in france than here, plus I've lived here for over 20 years so there's nothing to see, plus even if there were what i mean is there's nothing NEW to see" i said as i placed some more shirts in my bag "don't worry, I'll be back after a year"

Mother just stared at me, she opened her mouth as if she was going to say something then sighed before continuing helping me pack my things "well if you've already decided then I guess there's no point to stop you" she sighed again as she zipped the zipper of my bags close

She walked up to me and sat next to me on my bed before giving me a hug and whispering in my ear "As long as you enjoy yourself and keep safe then that's all that matters" she said as she gently combed my hair with her fingers

"I wish you could've told me that your flight was tonight so that I could've atleast packed you something to eat or something" she said as she released me from her hug

"Sorry mother, it was an.. Impulsive and spontaneous decision" i said

She just stared at me for a few minutes and then looked at the room "Well before you leave, make sure you clean this place. I don't care if you're going to be late for the flight just atleast do the bare minimum of cleaning your room" she said as she left

"Yes mother" I answered '"what a typical motherly thing to say" I thought as i started to put some clothes on some hangers and hung them in my closet and organized my desk

After cleaning the mess i made from packing i looked at my phone to check the time

10:42pm

"Ahh, I'll be late!" I Swiftly took my bag, passport and wallet and left my room, i saw mom in the kitchen so i went to her and kissed her cheeks "I need to go now or I'll miss my flight, Love you mother" i said as i was about to leave the kitchen when she grabbed my hand

She gave me a small lunchbox and said "here, eat this on the plane, Airport and airplane food are extremely expensive and doesn't even taste good so make sure you eat this instead, hm?"

She smiled at me before kissing my forehead and leading me to the door "bye-bye dear. make sure to always eat and sleep on time, ok? Keepsafe and always call me when you need me or when you need help with something I'll make sure to help as much as i can, I'll miss you sweetie" she said smiling

Even though she was smiling you could see the shine in her eyes and you could tell she was holding back her tears

" I'll miss you too, I'll always eat and sleep on time and call you every now and then. I love you" i said as i smiled while giving her one last goodbye hug before leaving "I love you more" she said before letting go of the hug

After that i left and called a taxi to take me to the airport, when i got there it was 10:56pm and my flight was at 11pm sharp so i started running through airport passing by a bunch of people before finally arriving at the plane i was going on

"Hi, good evening! May i see your boarding pass please" the lady said before i gave her my boarding pass. "Thank you" i said as she gave me back my passport before I boarded the plane

"Good Evening, Thank you for flying with us. Please check the designated seat by checking the number on your pass and take your seat" The flight attendant said to me who was last to board the plane, i went through the plane and found my seat which was luckily by the window so i could see the view of the sky

I looked at the sky as the plane started to take off, you could see the buildings and my house which was not far from the airport. All the people started to look like dots and the buildings started to look smaller as the plane got higher in the sky

As the plane flew higher it slowly started to go above the clouds, It looked bright like it was Morning when it was a quarter till 12 midnight.

I closed my eyes for moment and just watched a movie while i waited for the duration of the theee hour flight

I finished the movie and just as the credits started rolling there was an announcement from the captain "Ladies and gentlemen, as we start our descent, please make sure your seat backs and tray tables are in their full upright position. Make sure your seat belt is securely fastened and all carry-on luggage is stowed underneath the seat in front of you or in the overhead bins. Thank you."

A few minutes later a flight attendant made an announcement "Ladies and gentlemen, France airlines welcomes you to Paris. The local time is 7:23pm. For your safety and the safety of those around you, please remain seated with your seat belt fastened and keep the aisles clear until we are parked at the gate." She said

"On behalf of France Airlines and the entire crew, I'd like to thank you for joining us on this trip and we are looking forward to seeing you on board again in the near future. Have a nice stay!" She said before everyone started to get off of the plane, i also got up and took my bags then got off the plane

I went to the baggage carousel and got my luggage and left, As i exited the airport i could feel the winter breeze as opposed to the Philippines where the Temperature never gets cold enough to wear a jacket

Finally, a fresh start. A breath of fresh air and a place to Recharge and unwind.. hopefully everything goes well
