5,000 words. The multimedia shows her dress and the picture poses they took.
"Ximena, how lovely to see you again." Karen Attiah stated on set. Out of all the reporters who reached out to hear Ximena's story, she wanted a black woman to be the one who interviewed her.
"Lovely to see you Karen. It's been what? Since my first single?" Ximena crossed her right leg over the left and placed her hands clasped together on her knees. Laying back in the chair she smiled politely.
"Yes ma'am. So, I know everybody watching is wanting to know what exactly happened that night?" Karen wasted no time jumping into the topic.
"My dad told me before I went on to perform that I had something waiting for me when I got home. Afterwards, I had a Mercedes Benz waiting for me and I wanted to take it for a spin. Just to get some ice cream you know and immediately when I pulled up these men were watching my every move. I get out the car and met some fans, get my things and by the time it's time for me to descend to my car. These men were waiting for me." Ximena began to tear up as she recalled that horrific moment.
The family who was behind the stage also felt the emotion behind what was being said. Maya wanted to grab her daughter, Anthony felt rage and Sutton felt what he did that night he saved her.
"Take your time Mena." Karen handed her some tissues using her nickname completely forgetting they were on set.
"He ends up asking me for the keys to my car and I tell him no. He ends up grabbing me and forcing me over the car." Ximena stopped again because she knew the lump in her throat was going to come out like a waterfall.
"Why did the men run away?" Karen asked shifting in her seat. All she wanted to do was hug Ximena.
"They said they weren't down with r-raping me and he told them then they needed to leave. So they did. I-I heard his belt buckle and he began to tug at my pants and I started praying very hard. That's when Sutton pulled up." Ximena smiled softly as she wiped her tears.
Brooklyn and Michelle had seen the video but hearing the actual commentary of what happened overflowed them with emotion.
"I am enraged for you. Especially because these were black men. Black men have to do better at protecting black women. Obviously not all black men are bad because one showed up for you. What was Sutton Hendrix doing there?" Karen asked leaning in nosily.
"I definitely agree. I see that's everybody's big question. In the video you can see me looking at my Apple Watch, I was calling my husband. We have each other's locations so he knew where to find me." Ximena smiled from ear to ear as she looked over at Sutton.
