"So you're saying that Hawkin's laboratory opened a portal to another dimension and this guy called Vecna opened a few cracks in the earth? And Eddie accidentally framed himself for a murder that wasn't actually a murder because the victim is alive and breathing? And now the military is also chasing you because they thought a super-powered girl that moves things with her mind caused this?"

"That pretty much sums it all up," Steve told Saul.

"Am I tripping balls or is this actually real?" He asked.

"It is real," Eleven told him, holding a floating apple in the air.

"Holy mother of mary and joseph!" He gasped.

"So is there a case, Saul? Or not?" Murray asked impatiently.

"Hell yeah, there's a case, Murray! This is gonna be the most legendary case of my career. We can get the General who's hunting Eleven-pardon me, Jane in prison, we can get Jason to possibly serve a life sentence for attempted murder. And we can get Hawkins P.D to pay the Muson family for not handling the investigation correctly."

"Wow, my head feels like it's gonna explode," Robin commented.

"You'll be fine, drama queen," Steve murmured and put his hands on her shoulders, rubbing them affectionately.

Eddie noticed this and grinned deviously at them. Robin saw this and narrowed her eyes at him.

"Something we need to know, Harrington?" He whispered.

"Mind your own damn business, Eddie," Steve hissed.

"It's fine Steve, I think we can afford one freak catching onto us," Robin told him gently and laid a hand on his chest.

"Oh, Buckley defending the mother hen? Very manly," Eddie teased, Robin marched up to him and smiled.

"I see the way you beg for Chrissy's attention Muson, you're a lovesick puppy too."

Eddie frowned and twisted the rings in his fingers.

"Fair game, Buckley, fair game," He relented.

Robin made a 'that's what I thought face' and Steve had to summon all of his soul not to burst out laughing and ruin the conversations of everyone inside the cramped hospital room.

"Hello? I-I can't see."

Everyone froze, Robin looked at Steve, the color drained from both of their faces.

She was awake.

"I can't see!" They heard Max shout.

"Max, Max, it's okay!" Lucas assured her as she cried. He clutched her good hand as Max sobbed.

Everyone dropped what they were doing and most that were in the room discreetly left to make sure Lucas and Max were alone. They deserved it. Robin closed the door, being the last one out. Steve sighed and hugged her, Robin let her tears pour free from her eyes and cried into his shoulder.

"She's gonna be okay, Robin, I promise."

Her arms tightened around his neck.

"She's blind Steve, that's no life for a kid."

She looked up at him, and he had tears in his eyes as well. His eyes were glossed over and he looked down at her sadly, his bottom lip trembled.

"We're bad friends to them, aren't we? It should've been us, our grief, god damn it, I should've been in Billy's place, Max doesn't deserve to suffer, she's just a kid."

"Steve, you've done all you can, they look up to you, they love you."

Steve clutched her hands and kissed them furiously, tears spilling onto them.
