by the time mahi'ai's feelings had settled back into a somewhat .. toned-down state, the day had rolled around to a deep dark, a mix of blues and blacks illuminating the pale white moon hanging over the night sky. ironically, the only reason mahi'ai had been able to ground himself to a bit of calmness was because his tears had put him fast to sleep, and mixed with the exhaustion that still dominated him from his early trip had completely knocked him out.

mahi'ai was sleeping rather deeply when his older brother, completely unaware of what had happened that evening slipped into his dark bedroom. immediately, adonis startled a bit; he wasn't sure what to expect exactly, but it was definitely not the clothing strewn and sprung to and fro all over the corners of the boy's rather spacious bedroom. figuring he was simply tired after his flight, his older brother began to pick up the clothing and put it back into the bags they belonged in.

though adonis looked a lot like their father, he barely resembled him.

that was clear by the soft awakening mahi'ai received with very gentle shakes of his shoulders as if he was scared to shove him too hard. thankfully, it didn't take too much for mahi'ai to wake up who was used to early morning routines from his grandmother and it didn't take much for his heart to nearly jump out his chest just like he jumped right out of the bed.

"donni!" the boy exclaimed, launching himself onto his much taller older brother who simply allowed him to as he always had, especially when they were younger and mahi'ai would almost always beg for piggyback rides to the park and back and of course, adonis would always have to give them to him. he loved mahi'ai just as much as mahi'ai loved him, and that was a whole lot. that was obvious in how the eighteen year old simply smiled as the hawaiian nearly squeezed the life out him, blubbering so excitedly he could barley make out what he was saying until they finally pulled away from their overdue hug. "you- you- i missed you!"
"i missed you too." the rather tall boy with black curls chuckled, patting his smaller brother's head who couldn't even find the right words to say.

"wow... you're huge now," mahi'ai gushed, excitedly before he pointed to his own nose. "and you got metals! i barley know you donni!"

"oh, yeah-" adonis laughed, finally realizing that mahi'ai was referencing to his septum piercing as he wondered just how one person could be so excited- so bubbly and so bright and how you could see it in his very eyes that seemed to sparkle right through the darkness like a golden light. adonis had changed a lot, and that much was obvious by the tattoos that decorated his hands with intricate meanings that his little brother could not possibly decipher; especially not the roses inked upon his fingers. "i got it when i was fourteen, but you.. you ain't changed a bit."

"really?" the younger hummed. "how's that?"
"ion know. you just haven't." his brother smiled before offering him a bag that seemed to materialize out of nowhere.
"for me?"
"mhm. got you a landing gift."

"thank you." mahi'ai cheesed as he looked in the rather large bag, his brother simply nodding in response. for a moment, the boy even forgot about the torments that he had gone through at the very beginning of the day with the appearance of someone so very close to his heart and his mere appearance nearly brought tears to the emotional boy's eyes as he peered through the bag, gasping loudly as he pulled out a set of canopy sheets and very surprisingly, a phone. the fifteen year old's eyes widened as he held up the box, looking over at his brother who only continued to smile. "donni- where you get this?"
