June 12 1987, Forest Hills Trailer Park, Hawkins Indiana
"For fuck sake, Henderson where are we going?" Steve asked as he sat in the back seat of his own car. He felt the change of pavement to gravel, and smelt the smoky air outside of his car. He knew exactly where he was, how could he not? He had made that same drive himself, many times before, he had every inch of the trailer park memorised like the back of his hand. "Why are we at the trailer park?"
Dustin's eyes went wide, he stared at Robin and mouthed the words "what do I say?"
Robin stared back at Dustin, mouth hanging open, "we aren't at the trailer park. What gave you that idea?"
Steve being too tired to argue, just exempted the fact that maybe he wasn't there but he wished he was. He wanted to be home. He wanted to be with Eddie. But for whatever reason it had gotten in his head that Eddie didn't want to see him.
They pulled up to the empty trailer, Steve still had a bandana tied around his head like a blindfold. Robin led him up the steps of the trailer, and into the farthest room from the door. The trailer smelled stail, it was cold. Despite it being June it was freezing outside and the only thing giving off heat was the space heater Robin had left by the door.
Meanwhile Dustin was running over to Eddie's trailer. Once he had gotten to the trailer he started banging on the door, causing Eddie to run to open it. The door swung open, "The hell are you doing, Wayne is asleep!" he whisper yelled at Dustin.
"Me and Robin were just coming to check on you and when we drove past that trailer you were thinking about buying, the door was wide open. We went to check if you were working on something inside the trailer, but someone else is in there. Robin is still over there," Dustin paused. "She said she would watch it."
Eddie almost laughed at what Dustin had said. He was a terrible liar, and Eddie knew that damn well. It was possible that someone had broken into the trailer, but who would want to? It was empty. In all honesty, he didn't even care. That trailer was supposed to be not only for him but also for Steve, and after the last week he hadn't been very enthusiastic about it anymore. Wayne had convinced him to buy it actually. He had pitched in a little as well.
As much as Eddie didn't give a shit, he went with Dustin anyway.
When they walked up to the trailer, he saw Robin standing outside of the trailer with no car, no bikes, no mode of transportation. Whatever they were doing clearly wasn't thought out very well.
"Hey Eddie. We think someone might be in there, and thought you would want to check." God, Robin wasn't a good lier either. Nonetheless Eddie played into it, walking into the empty trailer, then hearing the door slam shut behind him.
"The fuck!" Steve heard Eddie's voice, he missed that voice, or maybe he just missed the person it belonged to. He ripped off the blind fond and walked out of the room he had been placed in. Steve walked out towards Eddie, catching his attention.
Eddie turned toward Steve, surprised, nervous surprised, good surprised. "Hi."
"Hi."
A/N: sorry this took so long to post. This chapter is kind of a mess. I just needed something to fill the space between the last chapter and the next chapter, and this is what I ended up with. I can't say I'm proud of it.
